    in Politics

Listen to this edition of the Pan-African Journal hosted by Abayomi Azikiwe, editor of the Pan-African News Wire. We will feature our regular PANW reports with dispatches on developments surrounding the evaluation of a Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) prevention vaccine which initally reports indicate is highly effective; we also will look at the role of Egypt in carrying out United States imperialist policy towards Africa with the deployment of additional F-16 fighterjets in exchange for support of Washington's so-called "war on terrorism"; the recent elections in Burundi is cloaked in controversy as the European Union announced that it would provide additional assistance to refugees fleeing unrest in the Central African state; and in Baltimore where an urban rebellion took place in April, authorities have announced the closure of a detention facility in the city. In the second hour we begin our commemoration of Black August, paying tribute to the historic legacy of resistance by African people to slavery, colonialism, neo-colonialism and imperialism. This segment features a disucssion on the plight of Africans in the U.S. after the conclusion of slavery and the failed Reconstruction. We also present a rare audio message by Dr. W.E.B. Du Bois on his involvement in the early Pan-African Movement. Later in the second and third hour voices of the Poor People's Campaign of 1968 are heard discussing the social class divisions between African Americans and whites in the U.S. during the time period. The Poor People's Campaign was conceived by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during the last months of his life. The idea was to take thousands from across the U.S. of various nationalities to Washington, D.C. to demand an end to poverty inside the country. Although King was assassinated on April 4, 1968, the campaign continued beginning in May.

Live: Virus, Vaccines and the importance of Anti-viral Aromatherapy Oils.

    in Music

Topic :  - Virus, Vaccines and the importance of Anti-viral Aromatherapy Oils.

Most essential oils have some antiviral properties, but some are much better at combatting and treating viruses than others! Try to start using oils as soon as your symptoms start....it's easier to fend off viruses if they are caught early. In fact, using them as prevention is probably the best course of action! For example, some essential oils are beneficial for improving and boosting your immune system......but certain ones work better against specific viruses. Just to get you started here are some great, easy to get hold of antiviral essential oils such as: bergamot, cinnamon bark, clary sage, clove, dill, anise, eucalyptus, geranium, juniper, lavender, lemongrass, Melissa, neroli, rose, rosemary, tea tree and thyme.

More about the Antiviral Essential Oils:Viruses give rise to pro-teiform pathologies, some of which medical science can do nothing to cure. Classic responses to these infections are very limited, so essential oils are a godsend in treating viral problems, from the most common to the most fearsome. The molecules from many chemical families have shown an in-vitro antiviral activity, among them monoterpenols and monoterpenals. The cineole – monoterpenol synergy is used to treat viral pathologies of the respiratory tract (widely seen in temperate climes). This synergy can be found in many essential oils that come from trees of the Myrteceae family; these have been known forever for their interest in the treatment of pulmonary diseases. Another couple, linalool oxide – linalool (Hissopus off. var. decumbens) is also interesting for viral pathologies of the lower respiratory tract. Ketones, and especially rare cryptone, have shown an interesting capacity to fight naked viruses.

The Power Zone with DU: Brenden Ortiz, Pretty Boy With The House In Virginia

    in Motivation

    Wednesday, July 22, 2015

Tonight, The Power Zone with DU welcomes Brenden Ortiz, Motivational Speaker, Activist for HIV/AIDS and Author of the bestselling novel “The Pretty Boy with the House In Virginia”.  Mr. Ortiz joins host, Darlene A. Anderson of Darlene’s Utopia and Author of Not Without A Fight: 10 Ways To Win When it Appears You’ve Already Lost, to discuss his journey from hopeless to hopeful, and how he is educating and inspiring others to do the same.

Brenden Ortiz is a twenty-five year old Homosexual Male and Native of Brooklyn, New York.  He passionately speaks out on HIV/AIDS and its Stigma because he too is HIV POSITIVE. He shares with inner city youth the period in his life in which he considered to be stages of total darkness; at the age of 16, he experienced the tragic death of both his mother and father, which led to him to becoming internally numb, exploring the world recklessly with no care, and contracting the HIV virus in 2010.

“The Pretty Boy with the House In Virginia”, chronicles Brenden's journey from hopeless to hopeful. Brenden is dedicated to utilizing his testimony to promote awareness and actions of prevention. Having established “What Does HIV Look Like”, a NY based Non-profit and preparing to educate the masses on not just the diagnosis, but the stigmas that are attached to it…it is clear that he is on a mission of purpose!

Join Brenden Ortiz on August 15, 2015 for
