Life can be a challenge and sometimes we can use a little help. Take faith by the hand and join Dellani Oakes in saying the Rosary. You need not be Catholic to join. You don't have to own a set of Rosary beads. All you need is the desire to make a difference in your life.
This month, Dellani is saying the Sorrowful Mysteries. All prayers can be found at http://www.catholic.org/prayers/rosary.php
This month, Dellani's friend, Jan Holiday, is joining her to recite the Rosary. We had a few bumps and snags last time, but this will be smoother (we practiced!)
Feel free to listen to the Rosary broadcasts as often as you like and know that Jan and Dellani join you in prayer wherever you are.
In this episode of Saying the Rosary with Dellani, I will focus on another set of Mysteries -- The Glorious Mysteries, traditionally said on Wednesday and Sunday. You can find the Mysteries here: http://www.catholic.org/prayers/mystery.php
I will be saying the rosary live the last day of the month for four months. Each month I will concentrate on a different set of Mysteries. Thank you for joining me in prayer!
Want to say the rosary, but don't know how? Do you like to say the rosary with another person? Stumble over the prayers or feel strange talking to yourself? Dellani can help.
I won't say I'm the best Catholic, because that would be a lie, but I am trying to motivate myself to say the rosary more often. By committing these broadcasts, I hope to bring you some joy and find more of a focus for myself. Join me live on Thursday, July 31 for the first episode of Say the Rosary with Dellani.
Until then, I hope you have a blessed day.
JD Holiday talks with author Dellani Oakes! OF COURSE you know her from Red River Radio's Dellani's Tea Time & What's Write for Me.
Some of her books: The Ninja Tattoo and Under the Western Sky, Indian Summer, Lone Wolf & Shakazan. Dellani also self-published a romantic suspense novel, Conduct Unbecoming out this month. The Maker, Book 3 in the Lone Wolf Series is coming soon 2015.
The year is 3032 and mankind has expanded far beyond Earth’s galaxy. Matilda Dulac is a member of the Galactic Mining Guild. With her lover, Marc Slatterly, she works in a small mining ship in deep space. Their well ordered life if suddenly thrown into chaos when one miner arrives with a load of Trimagnite, a highly toxic liquid ore. Enter the Lone Wolf. Wil VanLipsig, known as the Lone Wolf, arrives to take the Trigmagnite off their hands. Is it a coincidence for him to show up on Marc’s ship years after Marc thought he’d killed Wil? Or is this the beginning of something far more insidious?
Beginning where Lone Wolf left off, Wil VanLipsig and Matilda Dulac continue their epic sci-fi adventure. John Riley is gone. He disappeared using an ancient transportation device. They hope he's dead, but can't count on it. He's far too dangerous.
They trek across the galaxy, venturing further into deep space. They arrive at a long forgotten planet–Shakazhan.

When she moved to Florida, Dellani Oakes had no idea the history was so rich and fascinating. Visiting St. Augustine for the first time, she felt the allure of the country's oldest city. She decided then to write a story based there. It wasn't until nearly 12 years later that 'Indian Summer' took its final form. Dellani is a happily married mother of 4, a substitute teacher, and a former English teacher. When she is not one of the above, she is an avid writer, spending every possible moment immersed in her other worlds. She has also written a series of futuristic romance novels, contemporary romances and short stories.
In an interview with self-publishing site, Smashwords, Dellani, shared, "I've been telling stories since childhood. I started writing short stories in high school and plays in college. I first attempted novel writing in 1988, but I never finished it. Maybe one day. I took up writing as a serious vocation in 2002, when my youngest started kindergarten."
Dellani added, "I had a nomadic childhood. My father was an English professor and we moved a lot. I lived in Tennessee, Ohio, Massachusetts, Texas, Nebraska and Mississippi before coming to Florida. It gave me a wonderful variety of settings and people to choose from in my writing. Under the Western Sky is set in Nebraska in 1976. 'The Ninja Tattoo' takes place in present-day Florida. 'Indian Summer' is set in Florida's past in 1739."
