  • Dealing with temptation

    in Spirituality

In James 4:7, we are told to resist the devil and he will flee from us. But it's not that simple; in the same verse, we are also told to draw near to God. Dealing with temptation is a two fold process of resisting the devil and drawing near to God. The closer you get to God and the more you become aware of His love, the less power temptation will have over you.

James 4:7, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." (The context of those verse is clearly speaking of temptation).

The Ministry of Insecurity : Dealing with Critical Spirits

    in Religion

THE UNSOLICITED "WORD": You ever talk to one of your Christian / Church Folk friends and out of no where they got "A Word" about your life and your situation, unsolicited? They seem to know why something didn't work out or why something didn't happened and they proceed to critique your life and life's decisions as if God sent them to do so. They always try to make you feel like "your not doing enough", you ought to be living this way and have more of that it is constant instability instead of contentment in Christ in HIS process and season for you. This my friends is a Ministry of Insecurity, that manifest itself as a "Critical Spirit". You always feel confused after talking to them, not the peace of God but "judged" not convicted. It is different when the Holy Spirit convicts you in LOVE but these ministers of insecurity make you feel like you committed a crime. TUNE IN Tuesday at 12 PM Noon as we discuss how to deal with The Ministry Of Insecurity, Dealing with Critical Spirits

  • Steps in Dealing With Grief

    in Christianity

God, in His great love for us, has revealed answers to some of the greatest questions we face: What is life? What is death? What happens after death? We can find great comfort in the knowledge that God has a plan for all of mankind and that death is a temporary separation. We will be reunited with our loved ones through the resurrections God has promised. Ultimately this understanding can help us better cope with a loss caused by death. Yet we cannot deny or diminish the feeling of loss created by death. We still sorrow and grieve. How can we deal with our grief? And how can we encourage others who are grieving? Grief is a deeply personal and traumatic experience. In dealing with grief, you may find it helpful to understand the grieving process. Writers

on the subject have identified several stages of grief, including denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. We will briefly examine each stage to help you understand grief and be prepared to deal with death. But bear in mind that a person in mourning may not experience these stages sequentially. No timetable for working one’s way through grief exists. Someone may feel several of the stages described here but not others.

Refuge Culture - Dealing with Others

    in Christianity

Refuge Culture is looking at issues and news from the refugee crisis, the California School district ban on drawing religious cartoons, the attack on Christmas by Starbucks and the federal government telling schools that male students have to shower with female students.

In these stories, we see the different views and stances taken by the world. How are we as Christians to deal with their views. What does God's word instruct us to do.

    Dealing With The Reprobate Mind

    in Christianity

The Bible teaches us that we are to take on the mind of Christ and to think as he would think. So what does it mean for someone to develop or take on a reprobate mindset? How does a reprobate mindset affect me as a Christian? Is it something that can be changed? Join us as we answer these and other questions connected to reprobate thinking.
