Loss is a part of life. We experience loss at work... changing jobs...losing a client or deal...relationships ending...the list goes on. And, loss is inevitably a part of family life... loss of our pets and family members. For many people the loss of a pet is the first experience with loss. Charmaine interviews Deborah Barnes, author of Purr Prints of the Heart, as she shares lessons on loss and living from her cat Mr Jazz. These lessons are so powerfully transferrable into both family and business life.

Show Topic: The culture of addiction and recovery is rife with experiences of grief and loss for the person struggling with addiction or striving for recovery. The nature of these experiences combined with the stigma, shame and general lack of understanding of addiction can make grief and loss associated with addiction lonely and difficult to heal from. The treatment setting can provide an effective healing environment for dealing with past or current loss and grief. We must also learn to deal with this experience outside of the cocoon of the treatment setting. We'll review the various stages of loss and grief, recount some personal experiences, and how as providers we can better help clients through this experience.

THE WHOLE HEALTH DIET: A Transformational Approach to Weight Loss with Dr. Mark Mincolla
Americans are avid dieters, with nearly one third of our entire nation taking up dieting every year. Yet, according to The Food Addiction Institute, diets have a success rate of between ten and thirty percent. Dr. Mark Mincolla, natural health care practitioner and author of THE WHOLE HEALTH DIET: A Transformational Approach to Weight Loss, claims that this high failure rate is due to a flawed approach to dieting that focuses only on physical changes. What dieters need, Dr. Mincolla argues, is a more holistic approach that addresses the root causes of weight gain: our emotional, mental, and spiritual needs.
In THE WHOLE HEALTH DIET, Mincolla not only teaches readers how to tackle emotional eating; he shows them how to develop and maintain their own personalized, energy-calibrated nutrition plan. Based on the notion that each individual’s metabolism reacts differently to various foods, Mincolla shows dieters how to electromagnetically test themselves for metabolic food intolerances.
Mark Mincolla, Ph.D. is a legendary natural health care practitioner who has transformed the lives of many thousands of people over the past 30 years. Mark has integrated ancient Chinese energy techniques with cutting edge nutritional science in what has become his innovative Electromagnetic Muscle Testing system (EMT). The main focus of his integrated east-west approach is what he calls Acutrition, as it zeros in on each individual’s unique nutritional needs.

You may have heard the term “glycemic index,” but don’t really know what it means. It’s a measure of how certain foods raise the sugar in your blood. Understanding “glycemic index” isn’t something just for people with diabetes. It’s also related to weight gain and loss. Registered Nurse and Integrative Wellness Coach, Julie Moon, talks with us about the importance of eating a diet rich in foods with a lower glycemic load can make it much easier to reach and stay at your ideal weight.
