Presenting Your Data: Make Better Decisions Over Time

    in Technology

Join us for Session 5 of the All Analytics A2 Academy, The Results Are In: Presenting Data to Decision Makers. The point of all this data is to make better, faster decisions. Not all managers are used to working with data, and there is resistance from managers who go by “gut.” And even the best managers will sometimes look at data to see the story they want to see rather than the story the data is telling them. Getting to the real truth of the data is the hardest part, but without it, the rest doesn’t matter. In this episode you will learn:

How managers can learn to look at data for the answers rather than to support their assumptions
How IT can sort static from data to enable better decisions
How to combine “gut decisions” with “data-driven decisions" to make the right answers
How to choose the right data for the decision
How to have an argument without ruining your career
How to integrate business leader feedback for the next project

What the Lie Says to the Truth

    in Motivation

When we need a good lie we can find one. When we know the truth it takes us a while to get to it. Why do we find it easier to lie than to tell the truth? What is it about lying that comes so easy or omitting information we know is critical and that is what we omit? Justifying our lies even gets better. That is when the stories are long and detailed and crooked and mostly forgotten by the one telling it, even if it is a lie we are telling ourselves.  How do we choose the truth and not fear truth?  Tune in and Join in on the Conversation Today at 3:30 PM, PST!
