The Chicago Cubs did not make the World Series, but they have been reeling in the MLB awards. Joe Maddon was named NL manager of the year. Mike Matheny finished second in the voting 37 points behind Maddon. Terry Collins, who led the New York Mets to the World Series, finished third. First year manager Jeff Bannister was named AL manager of the year. A.J. Hinch, who rejuvinated the Houston Astros franchise finised second. Minnesota Twins manager Paul Molitor rounded out the top three.
Unanimously, Kris Bryant won the NL rookie of the year award. Bryant became the 11th player in MLB history to win the award by unanimous decision. Matt Duffy of the San Francisco Giants finished second, while Pittsburgh Pirates Jung Ho Kang finished third. In a much closer race, Carlos Correa edged out Francisco Lindor for the AL rookie of the year.
The most interesting race was for the NL Cy Young award. Jake Arrieta edged out Zack Greinke by receiving 17 of the 30 first place votes. Greinke received 10 and Clayton Kershaw had three votes. Dallas Keuchel had a hold on the AL Cy Young most of the year and received 22 of the 30 first place votes. David Price finished second in the voting, 43 points behind Keuchel. No other AL pitcher received a first place vote.

There are a lot of churches who act like they teach God's word but use mind controlling tactics on the membership. It is extremely sad how some preachers and some members dominate others to do what they want them to do. I have been in situations from my last church in Little Rock, Ar. where I was put down because of who I was. I've been verbally attacked by two of the church's pastors. One told me he was going to slap me if I ever so called "read" my sermon. I've been talked about by a pastor in front of the class I was taking. I've been questioned on how I praise God. I've been lied on from certain members about how I live my life. 19 years of being a member of that church. After I left, the question was raised; "Why did I stay so long?" God was teaching me even though I was in the fire, I came out with no smell of smoke.
Are you told not to question what is being taught because the leaders are honest and want the best for you must trust them? Are you told that you must be with a certain group to be saved and not by Jesus Christ? Are you made to feel your failures, your performances are not up to par for the bibles standard? Are you being rebuked for turning down certain ministry assignments or telling the leadership you are not “comfortable” being involved in such ministries? Does leadership put down others to make themselves look better, calling themselves righteous and others unrighteous? Does the leadership defend all that they do even though it can be harmful or wrong? Does the leadership say things about you in a sermon that was confidential?
If questions like these answer YES, GET OUT NOW!!!!!!!!
