Wiser Than Before: Help Younger Hippies Save The Earth And Achieve Freedom

    in Spirituality

Being a hippie is not a matter of dress, behavior, economic status, or social milieu. It is a philosophical approach to life that emphasizes freedom, peace, love and a respect for others and the earth. The way of the hippie never died. There have always been hippies from the first time society laid down rules, to Jesus, to Henry David Thoreau, to John Lennon, to you. There’s a little hippy in all of us. It’s just been repressed by our socialization process. We need to find it and cultivate our hippie within. Only then can we reach our true potential.

Fresh Manna Our Daily Bread: The Importance of an Effective Prayer Ministry

    in Religion

Today’s Topic: The importance of an effective Prayer Ministry

Sub Topic:  Much prayer, much power. Little prayer, less power!

Discussion:  Prayer is the key that unlocks our hearts and minds to the will of God.  The more we pray and talk with God, the more sensitive we become to hearing what He has to say, learning His voice and following His instructions.  It is the link that binds us to the Holy Spirit that communes with our Creator, and when we pray we should speak the Word of God and believe what it says, this is how we get our prayers answered.  Today, Apostle Williams and others will share how to have an effective prayer life and the importance of  prayer in our churches and ministries.Scripture Text: (Matthew 21:22)  And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

INTENTIONAL COMMUNITIES -LAIRD SCHAUB-EDITOR OF COMMUNITIES MAGAZINE

    in Culture

ENVISION THIS: True community available to all those who seek it

Our guest, Laird Schaub, publisher of Communities magazine, member of the community at Sandhill Farm, and a group process consultant, introduces himself this way:

“My work in group process is rooted in 40 years of intentional community living--all with a group that makes decisions by consensus. In addition, I have been actively involved with consensus-based network organizations for 35 years. Out of that experience, I've been offering my skills as an outside facilitator and consensus trainer for the past 27 years. It is my view that there is no more intensive way to learn and practice group skills than to live in intentional community, where a person is called upon to grow in the work every day (not just after work on Tuesdays and Thursdays, or for an afternoon every other Saturday).”

Communities magazine has been the primary resource for information, stories, and ideas about intentional communities in North America—including urban co-ops, cohousing groups, ecovillages, and rural communes.

Communities magazine now also focuses on creating and enhancing community in the workplace, in nonprofit or activist organizations, and in neighborhoods, with enhanced coverage of international communities as well. We explore the joys and challenges of cooperation in its many dimensions.

Communities is a publication of The Fellowship for Intentional Community (FIC) which nurtures connections and cooperation among communitarians and their friends. FIC provides publications, referrals, support services, and sharing opportunities for a wide range of intentional communities, cohousing groups, ecovillages, community networks, support organizations, and people seeking a home in community.

How to Know the Will of God Part 8

    in Christianity

The Need for Divine Guidance God’s goal for us is not for us to be “in His will,” but to be dependent on Him to reveal that will to us and through us on a moment-by-moment basis.

God has committed Himself to our care, provision and the meeting of all of our needs. Knowing His committed love for us, we can rest in confidence that what-ever methodology He chooses to use at any given time, the end result of our lesson will accomplish His goals.

Throughout the ages, God has provided various means of direction and guidance. We know that throughout time God’s purposes match up with His relationship with His creation—each age includes a means by which the Lord communes with humankind. In this present age, He communes with us by His Son, who now lives in us and speaks to us directly and individually.

We are unable to know the ways of God without His help. Though our spirit is already in perfect communion, agreement and compliance with God’s present purpose and plan for our life, it is only through His work that our flesh is consumed and our soulical senses tuned to know His voice in our consciousness.

Depending on God for guidance works. If this was not something God wanted us to experience, seeking, waiting, and depending on Him would not have an effect, and we would be left to make decisions the same way unbelievers do.

God encourages and corrects us when we fail to wait for His counsel. There are practical consequences for both learning to wait and failing to wait (though those consequences are not necessarily proofs as there may be other factors). We learn to recognize the benefits, but because we come negatively programmed, we are much more sensitive to the negative consequences of independence rather than the positive fruit of abiding.

Fresh Manna Our Daily Bread: How To Multiply Your Seeds of Faith

    in Religion

Today’s Topic: How To Multiply Your Seed of Faith

Discussion: A believer who prays daily and communes with God, is open to hear His instructions and counsel of wisdom.  Just like natural plants often respond to human communication, so does our spirit and soul respond to its Creator when He speaks.  Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

What Makes Our Prayer In Effective

    in Culture

To understand  prayer's essence, we must realize that it began with the creation of mankind. It was not instituted after the fall but before it. Prayer existed from the beginning of God's relationship with man.
The nature of prayer can be understood only in the context of God's purposes for humanity, to commune and rule with God, THE ESSENCE OF PRAYER IS TWOFOLD:
    1. Prayer is an expression of mankind's unity and relationship of love with God.
    2. Prayer is an expression of mankind's affirmation of and participation in God's purposes for the earth.
To pray means to commune with God, to become one with God.
It means union with Him - unity and singleness of purpose , thought, desire, will, reason, motive, objective, and felling.
H.D. Bollinger said," Prayer is being expressing relationship with being" Therefore, prayer is a vihicle of the soul and spirit by which man communes with God.
Prayer is also the medium through which the human spirit affects and is affected by will and purpose of the divine Creator.
It is man cooperating with God's purposes for the earth.
Therefore,  prayer is the involvment of oneself (One's whole self) with the living God.
