Fantasy Insanity-Episode 1 Ryan McDowell, Kitchen Sink League

    in Sports

Ryan McDowell (@RyanMc23) joins me to talk about the Kitchen Sink League and other fantasy football league/commish items, as well as some other topics we strayed onto.

In this venture, my goal is to interview those that are not just playing fantasy football, but those that are creating new ways to play and enjoy it. Fantasy Football has taken a strangle hold as far as hobbies go for me. And I have come to find I am not alone in that. But beyond playing, there are people who are constantly thinking of new ways to set up leagues to allow people to play in very different ways. There are people that are writing about it in a way that is not just "hey here are my top 24 running backs". There are websites and podcasts that take on Fantasy Sports in a perspective that is completely different.  I want to find out just what went wrong in these people lives that made them do the things they are doing. Just kidding, I share this, let's call it, passion (okay, insanity is probably more fitting).  But still, what in the world were you thinking?

    Thanks for the listen,

    John L Bosch

    My Fantasy Commish

    in Sports

    Chris Sternal - Co-Founder of MFC - MyFantasyCommish.com

MFC, and our podcast My Fantasy Commish, were created to give sports fans a fresh persepective on fantasy sports.  ESPN, NFL Network, and all the other so called "experts" rarely get it right.  I have been playing fantasy sports for over 10 years and have experience with football, basketball, baseball and hockey.  I'm a strong believer that fantasy football requires the least amount of skill, a great amount of luck, and that prognostication and coverage have been watered down over the past few years because of the amount of resources available to players.

I'm a die-hard Chicago Bears fan, first and foremost; the Blackhawks follow, trailed closely by the Bulls. I graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in psychology (no, I don't read minds). I have been playing fantasy sports for 10 years and running leagues for just as long. I'm an all around sports fan and am always interested in learning new sports (became a huge Premier League fan 3 years ago). Since my glory days of playing high school sports are gone, you can usually spot me watching a game, doing something athletic, or trying something new. In the narcissistic driven culture of pro sports, I'm still a huge believer and fan of, "the love of the game."
