    Christendom - AW Tozer

    in Religion

“Christendom” was addressed to the attendants of a Christian conference, probably some time between 1960 and 1962. It is 54 minutes, 17 seconds in length. Although the recording intermittently skips words, its sound quality is otherwise good and A. W. Tozer’s valuable lesson can be easily understood. This is a radically challenging message that issues a degree of conviction that believers may find very unpleasant to accept. Pastors, ask yourselves whether you can point at your church and then at your Bible and say, “This is that.” Are you really in spiritual succession to Abraham?

INTRODUCTION TO DIDYMUS THOMAS (Twin/Twin) = IS SCRIPTURE A SCRIPT?

    in Religion

    THE SECRET WORD OF

    Didymus Thomas
    The Twin Twin

“The secret words that the savior spoke to Judas Thomas which I, even I, Mathaias, wrote down, while I was walking, listening to them speak with one another.

The savior said, “Brother Thomas while you have time in the world, listen to me, and I will reveal to you the things you have pondered in your mind.

The Apostle Thomas was also called Didymus which in the Greek means Twin or Double.

KJV John 11:16 said Thomas, which is called Didymus KJV John 20:24 ..one of the twelve, called Didymus KJV John 21:2 Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus

A long-suppressed, long-forgotten form of Christianity in which Thomas was the chief apostle has come to light in recent years. In western Christendom Thomas is known chiefly as the Doubter, the close follower of Jesus who had to touch his master's wounds in order to be convinced that he had really risen from the dead.

THIS WILL BE ANOTHER GREAT SERIES!!!!!!!!!!!

    The Rose of Sharon

    in Self Help

This week we are continuing on the topic of FAITH.  A topic that allows us to be pleasing to God, yet is so misunderstood throughout Christendom.  There is a faith that was revealed under the law (Old Testament), and there is a faith that was revealed in Jesus Christ (New Testament).  There is a distinct difference and we must know the difference because as we LIVE by FAITH.   The Rose of Sharon Show is completely dedicated to Ephesians 4:15 where we speak the truth in love.  We provide the knowledge that generates understanding and awareness for growing and leading life 'as He (Jesus) is in this world" IAW 1 John 4:17.

In The Gap "Escape From Christendom!" December 24, 2014

    in Lifestyle

    General Description:

'In the GAP', is a weekly hour of powerful global prayer aimed at immersing ourselves in the Spirit and letting God direct our attention to current areas of practical need. Together, we can bridge 'gaps' and build 'hedges' here on earth from the heavenly dimension. Join us in an effort to do more than talk about problems or pretend they don't exist! Jesus is still the answer to the pressing conditions and critical world affairs we all face - so lets 'BE' His Body!

    Specific Episode:   Escape From Christendom!

In this episode, we read one of the great Christian allegories of modern times, "Escape From Christendom", by Robert Burnell.  Originally published by Bethany House Publishers in 1980, this short story is set in a dream, highlighting the journeys of a man looking for the genuine "City of God".  He eventually finds it but only after encountering the numerous pitfalls that detour a believer back to "Christian City."  This is a must read for any Christian living in any age, but it is particularly helpful to those of us living in the self absorbed western Christian culture of today.

    The Trinitarian Gospel (part 5)

    in Christianity

Shallow theological preaching and teaching influences much of Christendom today.  Did you know that the gospel beautifully displays the perfect work of the Triune Godhead?  The well-known baptist preacher, Charles Spurgeon, said that "Nowadays there appears to be in some minds a forgetfulness of the Father.  Christ is loved, for he died, but many seem to look upon the Father as having no share in the wondrous work of redemption."  Join us as we discuss the Trinitarian Gospel.

Is Your Jesus the Bible Jesus?

    in Religion

Marie has been a Bible scholar for close to sixty years, and has written extensively on religious topics, being published in a monthly religious journal many times.

Marie started her writing career by writing a Gospel song when she was around nine or ten years old. She honestly don't mean this as boasting, but it really was a song. It had a verse and a chorus and, for being that young, was rather good. Her sister and her actually sang it in church. Since then she has written a couple hundred Gospel songs. She has also written one wedding song, and one patriotic song. She has had many poems and several articles published and has sold one nonfiction book proposal. Some of these were for the religious market and some, for the secular market. Sadly, however, the publisher who contracted with her for the nonfiction book later canceled her contract due to financial restraints on their part. But at least she knew she did win the contract. She has self-published one Christian novel and one book of poems. She is currently selling the novel on e-Bay. In all, she has sold close to half of my initial print run. Her current projects are the writing of my second Christian novel and the compilation of a song book. Additionally, she is writing a religious nonfiction book. As time permits I will be sharing my stories and songs with the Authors' Den community. I trust they will be a real blessing to all who read them. I enjoy writing very much, and am really happy to join the Authors' Den "family." By the way, I go by my middle name, Marie.

She has published two books, and the latest is a searching look at modern Christendom in comparison with the Christianity of the First Century believers.

3  ... His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,  4  by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
