Why is Physical Balance so important?
ex.: Jr.'s story from when we took him in (November 11, 2009, prior 2 years convalescent home after amputation of left leg) to when he passed away (September 21, 2015 at 92 years and exactly 8 months) 6 years of learning, challenges, solutions, (vegetable, reduced meds with Dr.'s knowledge, interacted with him, healthier nutrition, better hydration, started swimming after 5 months living with us, increased swimming to 1 mile a day, sometimes 2 miles!)

What does Physical Balance prevent? What are the benefits? How can we achieve them?
No marathon needed! Consistent, daily exercise makes a big difference, not just physically, also emotionally, spiritually and what we'll see next week, mentally. Even passive exercising is better than no exercising.

Last week: Emotional Balance, today 2/4 Spiritual Balance; next week 2/11 Physical Balance; 2/18 Mental Balance.
My favorite word is: Moderation in what ever we do. What I mean with Spritual Balance is to have something to look up to, for example Nature, Sounds, Yoga, God, Buddah, something where you can pull strength from.
Why is this so important? As a baby we had our parent(s) nurture us. As children, we made friends and enjoyed spending time with them, sharing, playing. As teens it started getting a bit more competitive, and as adults, we get lost at times, because the support we had has shifted in us, as we want to be self-sufficient, knowing the answers, being respected,
That's why we need a supreme being or something that grounds us, so we are balanced. Remember the muscle testing we did last week? Use it!
From my experience, my spritual life means being, doing, giving the best I can each and every day and get the strength and wisdom from above to know what it is. Ask yourself, what is it for you? Do you get guidance from somewhere you feel you want to tune in, listen, then head the thought, feeling, guidance you get? Do you feel a shift in your body, your mind, your soul? That's what a Spiritual Balance is for me. Then I test it and when it's solid, I follow the action to that thought.

Why is Emotional Balance in our life so important?
I am not a Psychiatrist or a Psychologist, though have studied Psychology to become a nurse and then a teacher.
Why do these two professionals say we need Emotional Balance?
to understand people better, learn easier
to know how to ask questions that open up their minds and emotions i/o to help them
How do we know that we are Emotionally balanced?
When we are, how do we feel? Stressed? Even keeled? Easy going? Happy?
When we are not? Tense? Irritable? Angry? Frustrated?
What are the side affects of either?
How can we avoid the negative side affects?
How can we make sure we are balanced? Titer Toter, muscle testing
Meditation, Music, reading, listening to positive talk, walk, exercise, rest, healthy nutrition, ample hydration
Interaction with others
Recap: being emotionally balanced with all of the above mentioned points, helps us avoid going into Depression, having suicidal thoughts, and worse. It's all about Balance and today it's the Emotional Balance.

Common New Year's Resolutions:
Are you On/Off Target?
Feelings about decisions?
Stress Relieve: deep breathing....resting more and deeply
Weight Control: Food (eating less, healthier, more plant based foods; reduce or avoid sugars, read labels, no more than 10 - 11% of your caloric intake in Protein (plant or animal)
Do not loose weight, release it! Think, what happens when you loose something? Mind goes into search to find the item again!
Exercise, firm, tone, positive action words! Affirmations. Loving your body. Loving your looks. Knowing that beauty shines from within, then radiates to the outside!
Life Style Change: do it for 21 - 28 days, as this is the time it takes to form a new habit.

Carl Siciliano, founder and executive director of The Ali Forney Center, talks to Randy about the current #HarlemNoHate Campaign which aims to raise funds to help the Center purchase a church in Harlem to expand it's services for homeless LGBT youth.
The poetic irony is that the pastor of the church, Rev. James Manning, has spent years spewing vitriolic hate speech towards the LGBT community in Harlem.
Pastor Manning is notorious for signage at the church with messages such as “Jesus would stone homos” and that all supporters of LGBT people should be cursed with cancer, HIV, madness, and eternal damnation.
"The biggest reason our youths are driven from their homes is because of homophobic and transphobic religious beliefs of their parents. If we are able to obtain the space it would truly be a triumph of love over hatred," says Siciliano.
The church is being put up for auction due to unpaid bills and tax liens on February 24th. The goal of the #HarlemNoHate campaign is to purchase the church and make what was once a place that put religious-based hate on broad display, and turn it into a safe haven for young LGBT.
The Ali Forney Center is the largest and most comprehensive organization in the nation dedicated to housing LGBT youth. AFC serves youth aged 16-24, and provides emergency and transitional housing, street outreach, a drop-in center, medical and mental health treatment, a vocational/educational program, and a counseling project for the families of LGBT youth.
