Voices of South Africa “Hate Crimes”

    in Politics Conservative

WHEN DO WE SAY NO !!!!!!!!!!!! WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE!!!!!!!!!!

“Tesh Ndlovu of Midrand: 27 October 2014: "My duty is to eliminate every white person in South Africa" facebook page: "If you look very well in my profile you'll see that I'm wearing a necklace.. you see this necklace. This was made from the bones of a small white child of six years old. I killed him myself and his sister in front of his parents. We can make beautiful art and traditional crafts using the bones an d remains of white people... If you want to eat a white person, I won't stop you. Or if you just want to have some fun torturing a white person before you killt hem, that is entirely your prerogative... whites doesn't have their own country. They are all over Africa... they've nowhere to run...”

    who can you trust?

“South African Police sergeant Hendrik 'Muthi" Mthimunye: "Never Trust the White Man, the only Time you Trust Him is when he is Dead'

5 November 2014: Twelve white colleagues have lodged a formal complaint against sergeant Mthimunye, saying these words are 'unsuitable language to be used a a police member."

Dr. Stanton noted that recent studies of the correlation between corruption and atrocities committed by governments show that the relationship is direct.  Once in power, corrupt governments cling to power because of the enormous wealth their officials amass.  They then persecute, torture, and murder anyone who challenges their grip on power.  That downward spiral has begun in South Africa, just as it did in Zimbabwe.  In Zimbabwe it resulted in the Gukurahunde genocide against Joshua Nkomo’s Matabele people and Mugabe’s repression of the MDC.

Suicide Victims of the Roman Catholic Church

    in Religion

This episode is dedicated to all the victims of Roman Catholic abuse, whose pain was too much for them and they committed suicide.

I wrote a letter to the editor in response to Pope Francis asking priest abuse victims to forgive him and the church for our abuses. This is a part of that response:

"How can Paul Anthony Carson, whom upon seeing the priest whom raped him walking down the street and then going home and hanging himself, being found by his parents, forgive him?

How can Emma Foster, whom was raped by Father Kevin O'Donnell, while at a primary school whom committed suicide because of it, forgive him?

How can Daniel Neill, whom committed suicide because of his rapist priest, Joseph Gallagher, forgive him?

How can the 30 boys raped at the St Alipius primary school, whom committed suicide forgive him for their rapes?

There are about a thousand or more victims of these evil crimes who committed suicide. Tonight, we honor their memory and call to task the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis, all of the Cardinals, Bishops and Archbishops, priests, nuns and parishioners, who have ignored this evil and to correct it immediately.

These brothers and sisters of ours...deserve no less.

The Idea of Canon (Part 2) (The Covenant & the Cross #17)

    in Religion

Today's passage of Scripture is Ezra 7:10 which reads: "For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the Lord, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments."

Today's quote about the Bible is from Johann Goethe. He said: "Let mental culture go on advancing, let the natural sciences progress in ever greater extent and depth, and the human mind widen itself as much as it desires, beyond the elevation and moral culture of Christianity, as it shines forth in the gospels, it will not go."

Our topic for today is titled: "The Idea of Canon (Part 2)" from the book, "The Promise and the Blessing" by Dr. Michael A. Harbin

When the Jews were scattered throughout the world in the Diaspora (after the Babylonian exile), they began translating the Old Testament into their everyday languages. The most important translation of the Old Testament is the Greek, often called the Septuagint. The Septuagint is a product of the Exile. Although Ezra and Nehemiah consolidated the nation after the return, a number of Jews remained scattered throughout the Middle East. After Alexander the Great, Greek displaced Aramaic as the lingua franca. Aramaic was close enough to Hebrew that  literate Aramaic speaker, with some effort and help, could read Hebrew. That was not the case with Greek. Within a few generations, many Greek-speaking Jews were no longer able to understand their Bible. To compensate, the Jews in Alexandria commissioned a translation of Hebrew-Aramaic text into Greek. This translation became the text of choice of many Jews outside of Palestine and served as a background to most of the New Testament citations of the Old Testament.

The Idea of Canon (Part 1) (The Covenant & the Cross #16)

    in Religion

Today's passage of Scripture is Matthew 28:19-20 which reads: "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

Today's quote about the Bible is from Patrick Henry. He said: "The Bible is worth all other books which have ever been printed."

Our topic for today is titled: "The Idea of Canon (Part 1)" from the book, "The Promise and the Blessing" by Dr. Michael A. Harbin

Genesis, Exodus, and Leviticus became the first "canon." This concept is crucial. The word canon (referring to a group of writings regarded as authentic) is used to describe the body of literature we call the Bible or Scripture. This English term is a transliteration from the Latin, which borrowed it from the Greek, which in turn had taken it from a Semitic language, probably from Hebrew "ga-neh," meaning "reed" or "measuring stick."

As we look over the following fifteen hundred years of biblical history, we see that the canon as we have it today developed gradually. What we mean is that various books were added to the three given at Sinai as God deemed necessary. Most of the material was written in Hebrew. The Hebrew text of the original three books was very close to (but not exactly) what we have today. At times editorial comments were added. (For example, Gen. 26:33 states that the city of Beersheba was called by that name "to this day," and Josh. 7:26 notes that a great heap of stones stands "to this day.")...

Should All Prisoners Be Released Except Those Who Committed Violent Crimes?

    in Women

Debtors Prison was an institution used by the ruling class in Europe to punish people who could not pay their debts. Living under an oppressive system of high taxes and fines, of course the jails became overcrowded with debtors who could not pay. Many were given the opportunity to work off their debts as "indentured servants," temporary slaves who worked until the debt was paid off. Most were languishing in Europe's overcrowded jails until they were given an opportunity for release. The catch: they had to leave the continent and go and settle what Europeans called "the new world" - America. Many came to America, and the rest is history. But, what happened is that the descendants of those earlier prisoners have recreated the same system in present day America. Many of those incarcerated are serving time simply because they didn't have money. Sometimes people are jailed for unpaid parking tickets causing, unknown to them, a suspended license. Often the "crime" was the sale or use of marijuana (a substance which is now sold legally) and they couldn't pay bail or couldn't pay a good lawyer. Our jails are overcrowded, and prison is just a thinly disguised slave labor business. It's time to stop it. Only violent criminals need to be locked away to protect society while they undergo rehabilitation. Should all other non violent prisoners be released, provided the opportunities to become productive citizens, and honorably pay any debts owed
