MACHINE MASS feat. DAVE LIEBMAN pairs the legendary saxophonist (Miles Davis, Elvin Jones...) with longtime collaborator drummer Tony Bianco (Elton Dean, Paul Dunmall, Evan Parker, douBt) and guitarist Michel Delville (The Wrong Object, douBt, Comicoperando). Graced by Dave Liebman’s extraordinary phrasing and improvising skills, “INTI” combines free improvisation with tight rhythmic structures, post-Bitches Brew time signatures with ambient episodes, spreading across different musical and spiritual realities, both playfully and intensely. The band ventures into the fiery electro-jazz territories explored by Bianco and Delville’s recent Machine Mass Trio, which also showcased both musicians’ capacity to listen closely and improvise over unpredictable chord, rhythm and time changes while handling live electronics and computer loops.
Recorded live in the studio with no overdubs (in just one afternoon, no less!), this monumental session bears witness to three seasoned musicians in top form – producing music that is fresh, challenging, profound and moving. Rules are acknowledged and rules are discarded, and the resulting sonic bouillabaisse,Inti, signals some truly exciting new directions for progressive jazz.
Let's Do Lunch! visits Isabella's in Lynchburg, Virginia with executive chef Sean Meeks who served up a delicious seafood bouillabaisse brimming with shrimp, mussels, scallops and squid over sun-shaped pasta in a spicy broth. A spoon is well needed to gather every last drop. Sean says it's a dish that is normally served in the fall but the hearty flavors still work in the spring. Most everything at Isabella's is farm to table including the beef for their Sunday brunch burger. 'Getting something shipped in from a third world country just doesn't have the flavor. If you know the farmer, the food just tastes better automatically,' Sean tells host Robin Milling.
The dish depends on the season getting fresh local vegetables to inspire the meal. Patrons don't seem to mind if it's summer or winter, ordering signature dishes like lasagna bolognese and walnut crusted salmon and savory parmesan risotto. Save room for dessert as their homemade baby cannolis are a taste of Italy.
Living in the south of Lynchburg, Sean grew up growing his own food and helping his mom and grandparents in the kitchen with pickling and preparing. His career actually began at 11 when he started appreciating giving simple foods a twist. Working at his family's concession stand Meeks Hotdogs, he would steam them with onions, celery, and garlic. His lucky break came at 16 while busing tables at a restaurant. One of the cooks cut his hand so Sean stepped in and took over the kitchen.
At home he teaches his kids how to chop up vegetables for their pet pig aptly named Chorizo! For the past 13 years Isabella's has become his second home mentoring others and encouraging their culinary education.

An interesting paradigm shift is happening within the ranks of the Professional Left Media - hypocrisy against, then in favor of, yet AGAIN putting down what has been historically supported as one of their very own tenets. They trumpet all things Leftward, turn on that which they deem "insignificant", THEN decide to support the Directionless Anarchists© who still only have a grand total 30,000 WORLDWIDE.
They also work very hard to point out every gaffe or mistake made by Herman Cain. You would think they would be happy at the prospect of his running for the White House; they go out of their way to denegrate him at every outing due to Cain's being a conservative. Yet they toss out the race baiting operations handbook whenever reporting on his campaign. The logic behind that is along the same lines as that of the Whiskey Council Against Happy Hour.
It's not just on through the major Professional Left outlets (The Alphabet Soup, CNN/MSNBC, AP/Reuters, Washington Post/ NY Times, etc), either. Here on Blog Talk Radio we have instances where there's non-stop hypocrisy going on as well. Those hardcore OpBart, Anonymous/ WikiLeaks, Occupy Movement supporters are constantly showing it. They're in a hyper-manic state showing how they are pro-green alternative energy, but ignore every fact coming out of the Solyndra controversy. They constantly call the TEA Party 'racist', but don't call out the fact that buses (hired by SEIU) going to campuses at the various cities involved with the Occupy Movement, but NOT the historically black ones. Now U.S. troops are being deployed to Uganda...?!?! Yet the actual number of those within the operation is skirted every time when asked. These are just some of the recent news items we'll be discussing on the Still Flyin' Over the Heartland Show.
So ladies & menfolk... sit down, strap in & HOLD ON!
