Bill served two deployments to the Persian Gulf region in the 1990s and in a peacekeeping mission (between Egypt and Israel) in the Sinai from 1996-1997. During the 2007 Taliban spring/summer offensive Bill served as Joint Operations Officer for the Southern Region of Afghanistan developing and implementing the US advisory effort for Afghan National Security Forces.
Lt. Colonel Connor took command of the US advisory effort in the volatile province of Helmand and he was the senior American working with the United Kingdom senior staff. Bill has published memoir of his experiences, “Articles from War,”
