I found out at the Labor Temple on Thursday night that a standing board member who does not face re-election is the treasurer or one of the higher posts on David Kirby's election committee. This is a conflict of interest. It is a conflict of interest because there is a lot of ingrained, concrete power struggles on the board with 5 dominant members and 2 outcasts. It is important that each candidate presents themselves with a fresh voice with no political allies that will stir up old rivalries.
