HBCUs offer culture, a rich history and rigorous academic programs. Most importantly, they prepare students for leadership and life after graduation. There are 100 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) across the nation and nine percent of all African American college students attend HBCUs. In 1965, in Title III of the Higher Education Act of 1965, Congress officially defined an HBCU as a school of higher learning whose principal mission was and is the education of African Americans and was accredited and established before 1964.
All HBCUs play a critical role in the American system of higher education. For most of America’s history, African Americans seeking a college education could only get it from an HBCU. firstname.lastname@example.org call in 661-467-2407
On the heels of the Ferguson verdict this is the hot debate in the Black Community. Black Friday is one of the biggest shopping days of the year and can make or break many retailers. In protest many Black consumers have decided to boycott Black Friday to show the power of the Black Dollar. I have expressed my opinion here Why I do NOT think Blacks should boycott Black Friday, but I want to hear from you. Let's talk about it.

If ever there were a perfect time or place to discuss the ongoing matter of the Mike Brown case, this is the perfect place. LIVE onight before we bring in the Thanksgiving holiday, we discuss amongst our fam and open the lines up for listeners to call in and discuss the effect and opinions on the entire Mike Brown situation. There is no conversation like "A Black Top Conversation"
Bill has been rather vocal related to Black people in america and what ails us, he has been held up by white america for the things he has said, denigrating and putting down the people who supported him to the place he sits. Still He is a Black man, does he not deserve our support?
Why suddenly the witch hunt, why has white america chosen THIS time to bring this forward, is it Distraction from the Mike Brown case??
How about the OJs and Bill Cosbys that have seemingly abandon their own once they sat at the table of whites, do these people still deserve our support or do we let them get chewed up by the master they snuggled beneath?

Ish just got real. This week the Black Geeks review the 3rd installment in The Hunger Games franchise, "Mockingjay - Part 1", directed by Francis Lawrence. It's all out war for Jennifer Lawrence's Katniss Everdeen as she becomes the official symbol of the Districts' rebellion against The Capitol. Featuring a very strong supporting cast, including the late, great Philip Seymour Hoffman, Mockingjay-Part 1 is a bona fide action flick replete with explosions, psuedo-military combat jargon, and a very high body count. Tune in today at 3:30 and find out if this is worth your $16 or you should wait till it's streaming on Netflix in 3 months.
