We're back with yet another exciting edition of The Down and Dirty with Frank Fontana!
Up first is Matt Muenster, licensed contractor and host of Bath Crashers on the DIY Network. Like Frank, he got his start in interior design, and has also gone on to the DIY world and TV fame. We'll learn about his background and what he's up to today, as well as why the "... Crashers" series is so cool. In our Craftsmanship segment, we're welcoming Dan O'Connell of KTMOC Step Stools to the Craftsman Experience studios. He took over the work his grandfather perfected over 30 years time, and makes customized step stools for children and parents alike. We're also pumped to welcome Andrew Daglas to the studio to talk about the fall television schedule. He watches much more TV than anyone should, and he breaks it all down at The Vast Wasteland on the ChicagoNow blog network. Let's talk about the good stuff and the bad! We've got all that and much much more in store for today's show... and we want you to participate with us too! Call us during the show at 855-DIY-WORLD, and send us your thoughts via email to email@example.com. Let's get Down and Dirty!
MyFixitUpLife LIVE! hosts Mark & Theresa are joined by DIY Network's 'Yard Crashers' host Chris Lambton to talk about how you could be unknowingly killing your lawn.
Chris has recently taken over as host of 'Yard Crashers' from Matt Blashaw, who is now hosting HGTV’s new series 'Vacation House For Free.'
In every episode of 'Yard Crashers,' weekend warriors are targeted while shopping at a home improvement store for a backyard makeover by the expert host. Then he follows the surprised shoppers home and completely transforms their yard.
Chris and his wife Peyton Lambton also hosted the HGTV show 'Going Yard' where they transformed a neglected backyard into an eye-popping outdoor family space, suitable for entertaining. Patios, water features, fire pits, arbors and truckloads of plants all will be revealed as the guests arrive to christen the new space with its first home run of a party.

Chris Kehler is a quantum energy practitioner/healer who specializes in finding the trouble areas in the body and the stressors within that area by using the pendulum and chart method of dowsing.
After working 30 years in the printing & newspaper industry, Chris retired in 2007, a door opened for Chris which would lead him into the world of energy healing. Realizing that his intuitive nature was more than just coincidence, Chris began taking courses in many different modalities. To his credit, Chris has found great success and certification in Dowsing (pendulum), Radionics, Healing with metaphysical tools, Quantum Touch, Muscle testing (applied kinesiology), Foot bath detox and Live blood analysis.
Chris has learned very quickly that when working with universal energies, one must think not just outside the box, but WAY outside the box. By this we mean that all possibilities need to be considered when working with a person’s ill health. Not only are things like virus’s and infections tested for, but, also “off the wall“ possibilities like: entities, aliens, demons, karmic debt and how well your body is grounded to the earth are considered.
After the problem area and stressors have been located, the “frequencies” of the stressors can be neutralized with the use of Krystaline metaphysical tools and Radionics. With this protocol, it is possible for pains and ailments to be alleviated within a short period of time.
Chris's work has become a worldwide phenomenon in energetic and remote-distance healing as he works with anyone and everyone in the entire world via Skype and telephone, which has gained him and his clinic worldwide notoriety.

Our special Guest will be Jacob Herskovits from TileBar. We'll talk about cabinets, and vanities and faucets, but our main focus will be on creative ways to use tile in these spaces. I am in the middle of a home remodel and am very excited to try the tile that mimics the look of hardwood flooring. My client in Atlanta had it installed in his basement build out and I love it! We'll take a fresh look at glass tiles and try and figure out the best patterns for a sophisticated and modern home.

Harvest, AL – Walking down the hygiene aisle of your local grocery store you’d be hard-pressed to find a soap that doesn’t include a long list of unpronounceable ingredients. The truth about the household-name commercial-brand soaps found on most supermarket shelves is that they are almost all detergents. Maybe they can get you clean, but what damage are they doing to your skin?
Homemade soaps smell better, feel better and clean better than any name-brand manufactured soap, so the best way to ensure you’re using the best soap is to make your own.
Mary Burns is the founder of Petals N Soap where she specializes in creating all-natural bath and body products. Burns develops, creates and sells her products, which include cold process, non-glycerin soaps made without detergents or SLS.
“We all deserve to have beautiful products to use when caring for our skin,” says Burns. “People are becoming more aware of the good quality soaps so my goal is to provide you with the best and prettiest products possible.”
Burns was first introduced to homemade soaps three years ago after watching a YouTube video. It looked so easy that she decided to try it for herself. Burns’ soaps are made with a combination of olive oil, coconut oil, palm oil, castor oil, Shea butter and cocoa butter. The coconut oil does the cleansing, the castor oil produces the bubbles and the palm oil gives it a creamy feel.
“It looked like it could be turned into an art form,” says Burns. “I don’t know how to make plain soap. I don’t make plain anything. Everything needs to have a twist because I like pushing the envelope. When I saw the consistency of it, I was fascinated with it and decided I needed to do it.”
