In this episode, Dru discusses the use and misuse of the ballot box in America. The ballot box is a necessary part of the system to ensure the freedom of Americans. But, the question becomes, since Americans can actually vote out their own freedom, is the ballot box serving our needs properly? Issues regarding the abuse of the ballot box are raised as well. The Constitutional authority given to the People and the limitations put on Congress by the Constitution serve as a great protection from Administrative, Judicial and Congressional abuse maximizing the effectiveness of the process. However it takes the People to actually participate in the process to make it work.
California's ballot proposition process was meant to give the people more of a say in legislation, but the process has become entirely corrupted by money and special interests. Proposition language makes the proposals sound like good ideas, but like the legendary Trojan Horse, buried within the legalese are often provisions that have entirely different consequences. And lately, when a bad idea proposition is enacted in one state, thanks to organizations like ALEC, they tend to pop up on ballots all over the country.
Proposition 46 is billed as a patient safety act, by requiring physicians to undergo drug and alcohol testing. But there's more to it than that.

Ballot Access and the unconstitutional behavior of Democrats and Republicans
Now that Labor Day has passed we are officially in Election Season. The Congressional Midterms and the various state elections are upon us. Yet independents and candidates from the Green Party, the Constitution Party and the Libertarian Party are battling to for ballot access. The Democrats in Illinois have eliminated the Green Party for the Ballot. The Democrat and Republicans have successfully eliminated any alternative party candidates and independents in New Jersey. Republicans in Illinois have successfully eliminated the Constitution Party in Illinois and they have sued Libertarian Party State Senate Candidate Gigi Bowman in New York to remove her from the ballot. The Green Party has sued in Illinois. All over the country the ballot access continues and the Democrats and the Republicans just don't want to let anyone else play in sandbox. Guest hosting on Politics Done is Bobby Rodrigo and he will have as one of his guests The Chairman of the Libertarian Party of Georgia Doug Craig to offer his expertise on the ballot access struggles faced by anyone who is not a Democrat or Republican. Please join us.
