    IMMUNOLOGY: Evoking the Body’s Most Powerful Defense against Cancer

    All human beings carry some cancer cells in their body; it is the immune system that keeps them in check and inhibits a small cluster from becoming a full-scale disease. Treating the body solely from the outside leaves out one of the most powerful healing vehicles— the body itself. Join Jesse Stoff, MD, MDH, FAAFP, FAPWCA as he explains how to keep cancer in remission using immune support. Dr. Stoff is an internationally renowned physician with extensive credentials in immunology, naturopathy, homeopathy, acupuncture, and holistic medicine. He is a licensed Medical Doctor, a Certified Naturopathic Physician, a Certified Acupuncturist, and a licensed Homeopathic Physician. The Don S. McClure Show Black History - Leading Black Auto Maker 1915

    in Lifestyle

    The Don S. McClure Show Live-Black History Leading Black Auto maker 1915

    Mr. Charles Richard Patterson, founder of what was to become the world's first Black family owned automobile manufacturing company. The head of this remarkable family was Charles (Rich) Patterson. He was born a slave on a West Virginia plantation and learned blacksmithing skills that would prove useful through-out his life.

     The C.R. Patterson & Son Carriage Company of Greenfield, Ohio became the nation's, and the world's, first and only African-American founded and owned automobile manufacturing company. The company began as a manufacturer of horse drawn carriages and ended up as a manufacturer of buses for both urban transportation systems and rural school needs.

    In 1873 C.R. Patterson went into partnership with a white businessman, named  J.P. Lowe. ten years later into the very successful business venture J. P. Lowe died leaving the business and sole ownership to C.R Patterson. There are some who say C.R. purchased the entire company from J.P before he died.

    The C.R. Patterson Co. turned out 28 different types of horse-drawn vehicles.

    The product line included buggies, backboards, phaetons, rockaways and surreys — the era's most popular wagons.

    Patterson and his wife, the former Josephine Qutz, were the parents of four children: Katherine, Dollie, Frederick Douglass, and Samuel. It was Fred who helped guide the company into the Automobile Age in the early 20th century.

    "Table Talk" Study Hour - Episode 46

    in Education

    Ray Goodwin and Carolyn Yeager read and comment on the July 24 - August 3, 1942 lunch and dinner table monologues by the German Leader, as taken down in shorthand by aide Henry Picker. Included in this episode:

    Hitler has faith that the Dutch can "improve" but the Italians without the Duce are hopelessly under the thumb of the Church and the cowardly nobility;
    The need for oil from the Caucasus and the value of gas-driven over petrol-driven vehicles;
    Hitler discusses why government or military corruption must not be allowed to get a hold in Germany and tells of his experience with "swindlers";
    On Russians wanting to emigrate into the Crimea;
    The lack of superior weaponry in the first World War -- developing and building such are of equal importance to soldiering;
    The annual exhibition and sale in the House of German Art in Munich is praised;
    The credulity of the American and British public -- German and American standard of living compared -- the power of the Church to surpress scientific progress.

    The edition of Hitler's Table Talk being used was translated by Norman Cameron and R.H. Stevens, published by Enigma Books, New York, and can be found as a pdf here

    SmallvilleCast Talk Episode 191 - Superman's New Costume, YES or NO?

    in Television

    When The New 52 rebooted the DC Universe back in 2011, that meant pretty much every DC comic book character got a new costume. A large portion of the Justice League – including Batman, Superman, and The Flash – received similar updates (courtesy of Jim Lee). They all vaguely resembled the old costumes, of course – Superman with his reds and blues, Batman with his grays and blacks, and The Flash with his yellows and reds – but the new ones all looked armored and had similarly intricate line work.

    Deepertruth: 30 Years Ago Today I Joined Active Duty Army

    in Religion

    After returning back to the United States after being stationed in Germany for 3 years, I had learned a great deal in Germany. Within a year I was promoted to Specialist and received a lateral transfer to Corporal. By my third year I was promoted to Sergeant. This began my leadership in the Army. What a great opportunity this was for me. Responsibility is the best way to learn.  I loved the opportunity to lead troops, I would be given a task and it was my responsibility to exercise my leadership style. I was responsible for putting together a counseling packet for my troops. I ensured my Soldiers understood my expectations and received information from them to help know their situations. To know your personal is vital, to know their strengths and weaknesses to motivate them to improve.

    In my early days serving the Army, my leadership loved me because I was a strong worker. You need that GP medium tent to be put up; I was called upon to set it up, a GP small, not a problem. You need to camouflage over vehicles, I always had a lot of fun with a good attitude in helping make us the best we could be. I was always competitive that way.

    I was awarded the Impact Arcom by a 2 Star General (Major General Krawciw) for saving the life of a German national at Grafenwoehr April 1989. I was lifted up like a real hero. But all of this was made possible because of the supervisory planning I had enacted for this 30 day commitment. I had training taking place at each of the sites I was responsible. I was checking on my troops, I was at the right place at the right time. Sometimes it takes luck.

    Gospel Music, Black History or American History?

    in Music

    Have you ever heard a song that moved you to the point where you wanted to tell all of your friends about it? Well, that is the type of feeling you may experience when listening to gospel music. By its very definition, the term gospel means good news. Gospel music is one of the vehicles through which the ideals of Christianity have been spread to audiences all over the world.

    Gospel Music is a shining beacon of hope, a fantastic journey of joy divine, and a triumphant victory in God that comes from deep down in the souls of God’s Chosen People. The greatest melodies and the most stimulating songs have been given to this Nation and the World through the African American experience.

    Starting tonight and for the rest of this month we will explore the rich history of Gospel Music through the contributions of great pioneers like Andraé Edward Crouch, Mahalia Jackson, Thomas Dorsey, Albertina Walker, James Cleveland many others.

    Join your host, Petula Beckles and explore Gospel Music, Black History or American History?
