For a long time, I thought it was just me. Thursday Koorosh Ostowari, who is both a dedicated spiritual person and a successful real estate person, shares his Money Anxiety Cure. I snapped this one up in a second; I hope you do, too. In this episode, I will be exploring the different Clusters of Personality Disorders. I will be taking questions from the listeners Live:
This episode of Pneumatikos will explore the crisis of anxiety in a world beset by violence, intrigue, and lies. Where are we to find shelter from the bewildering mischief at large today? God is a shelter for the anxious ones when the all-too-muchness of the world threatens to overthrow our hearts. We can bring our anxious thoughts to Him because he cares for us. We can find rest in Jesus.
Patrick J. McGrath, M.D. Professor of Clinical Psychiatry
Sarah Fader, Founder & CEO, Stigma Fighters
Despite years of progress, the stigma of having a mood disorder like depression, or an anxiety disorder like panic disorder is still considerable. People experience disbelief from family, co-workers, and friends that this is a medical problem rather than a matter of needing to exert willpower and fortitude. Sarah Fader and her organization, Stigma Fighters are working hard to address this issue for people with these disorders and will discuss her advocacy work in this regard. Even when a mood or anxiety disorder has been diagnosed and is being treated, unfortunately selection of the correct treatment is still a matter of trial and error, with the attendant delay and frustration. Dr. Patrick McGrath is engaged in a pioneering study, funded by the National Institute of Mental Health, called EMBARC, which seeks to make the first steps toward a future where testing will help predict which treatment will be most effective. Ms. Fader and Dr. McGrath will discuss these efforts to assist those having these disorders."

Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is driven by two major needs: 1) to feel safe, 2) to be in control. While survivors seek ways to manage their experience of the world they often find that controlling themselves offers immediate sensations of relief. It's no surprise that eating -- an essential survival behavior -- can lead to distorted coping mechanisms in the PTSD lifestyle.
PTSD has proven to be a main predictor in eating disorders. In fact, 66% of all eating disorder patients have trauma in their history. Today, in honor of National Eating Disorder Awareness week Lauren Lohse (Navigator Program Manager) and Lauren Smolar (Helpline Manager) of National Eating Disorders Association join the show to discuss eating disorder symptoms, plus how to heal.
Michele Rosenthal is a popular keynote speaker, award-winning author and post-trauma coach.
