Margie Lopez Read, Donation art rebroadcast

    in Podcasting

Margie Lopez Read, Donation art  rebroadcast

Margie Lopez Read, artist and donating all the proceeds of her art

Margie Lopez Read paintings, and or prints of paintings are traded for a check made out to a worthwhile organization that the buyer and Margie agree upon.

I had the sheer joy to be part of the original show that Armando Sanchez did on his network I learned so much that I had to invite onto to my show.

I found the idea of doing incredible artwork and then donating the purchase price back to non-profit, to be incredibly intriguing

I did a bit of research on her web site www.margies-art.com and Facebook:  Donation Art, and discovering such art work as, Rosa-Big Sweetness and Sutter Buttes (both I could feel connection to) makes me believe this will be a great show and I really look forward to it

"Art is life and not worth much unless it helps make the world just a little bit better in one way or another."

Art has been important to Margie her whole life, influenced in large part by her grandmother Margie Cooper, who was an accomplished painter.

She states, "All of that is fun, but I want my art to do more. You see, I believe that art is at its best when it teaches, records a memory, tells a story, or provokes thought.  It is better still if it can be used to raise funds for worthwhile non-profit programs that improve the condition of our world." and” Please feel good about what you have done to make the world a better place and have joyous and peaceful times during this holiday season."

Thanks to Armando Sanchez whose description I copied and who is also sponsoring this show along with Sedano media group

Margie Lopez Read, artist and donating all the process of her art

    in Business

Margie Lopez Read paintings, and or prints of paintings are traded for a check made out to a worthwhile organization that the buyer and Margie agree upon.

Donation Art Project.  Donating all the proceeds of her art to a non-profit.

The ‘trades’ of her paintings have raised funds for many programs including ‘Doctors Without Borders’, ‘UNICEF’, scholarship funds, food for children programs, athletics for the disabled, animal protection programs and other humanitarian aid programs through the world.  And it seems to be growing…

"Art is life and not worth much unless it helps make the world just a little bit better in one way or another."

Art has been important to Margie her whole life, influenced in large part by her grandmother Margie Cooper, who was an accomplished painter.  Because of her (also her namesake), her parents allowed her significant freedom to partake in all things creative.  Margie Lopez Read indulged in a variety of media, techniques and styles – traditional, contemporary, surreal, pop  -- all that was around and developing in the 60’s and 70’s.  She also did a fair amount of illustration, cartoons and silk screen art with social and political commentary for high school and university newspapers and for movements such as United Farm Workers.

Over the years, she has participated in various art events, both juried and open.  Margie has won some ribbons here and there, and has sometimes displayed her work in art galleries. She states, "All of that is fun, but I want my art to do more. You see, I believe that art is at its best when it teaches, records a memory, tells a story, or provokes thought.  It is better still if it can be used to raise funds for worthwhile non-profit programs that improve the condition of our world."

Getting the Most out of Life's Gifts and Circumstances with Antonio J. Webb

    in Books

THEME: Getting the Most out of Life's Gifts and Circumstances with Antonio J. Webb, M.D.

GUEST INTERVIEW: Dr. Antonio J. Webb

Antonio J. Webb, M.D. is an Orthopedic Surgery Resident, Iraq Combat Veteran, Motivational Speaker and Author of "Overcoming the Odds". His forthcoming book is based on his own life story. The book details the miraculous account of a boy who became more than anyone ever thought possible. From joining the military as a teen to serving eight years in the US Air Force, from war on the streets of Louisiana to war on terrorism in Iraq, the book realistically portrays the heartache and desperate challenges it took to rise above his austere beginnings.

THIS WEEK’S MESSAGE:  Whether you like it or not, major events in life happen and then come the circumstances. Samuel Lover, the famed songwriter, composer and novelist, once said “Circumstances are the rulers of the weak; they are but the instruments of the wise.” Getting a good grasp of the role that events and circumstances play in your life is essential to you understanding how to shape more positive outcomes to challenging situations. Achieving this level of consciousness is also essential to you recognizing and valuing the difference between responding versus simply reacting to a circumstance. During the month of November, Life Changing Talk Radio will interview noted authors and interesting personalities who have developed unique approaches to crafting their responses to some of life’s most challenging and perplexing circumstances. Through their knowledge, courage, commitment, faith and determination they have and continue to make a difference not only in their lives but also in the lives of so many others.
