Im born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia...raised in the Lamberts Point and Park Place neighborhood...writing since childhood..while serving 10 years in Virginia State Prison I picked up Maya Angelou's book titled Poems:Maya Angelou ..I read it and fell in love with it and the poem Still I Rise...that poem inspired me to write my inner most feelings out and to find out what my calling was....I grew up in rough neighborhoods with my mother working two and three jobs to feed and clothe me and my only sibling ...writing poetry while in prison is how I found that inner peace within myself until I was introduced to the scripture of my Allmighty Lord Allah( God) who through His love I was able to find myself begin to love myself and start to love my people, my brothers and sisters and I am grateful for His intervention ...In leading me on the path of life that I'm currently traveling...
