I am so tired of hearing one pastor say something, then all the other pastors seem to repeat it unquestioningly.
I get weary of the "turn to your neighbor and tell them..." phrase.
I don't like the "can I get an Amen?" remark. If your audience wants to say "Amen", it should be spontaneous, not coached.
But even more troubling is the common statement: "Jesus talked about hell more than He talked about heaven".
This is a total misrepresentation of Jesus. Our Lord was heavenly minded. While Jesus did believe in a fiery hell, and spoke about it plainly and boldly, He spoke of heaven way more often and in greater detail, albeit in poetic similes: "the kingdom of heaven is like...."
Be very careful about what you hear from the pulpit and televangelists. When one statement is repeated over and over again by all of them, that is a good sign that there may be error.
Check your Bible and hold these parroted statements to scriptural standards.
