Community Policing

This Tuesday, on a special Behind The Blue Curtain, after a hack tried to throw us off our game, we are continuing the discussion we started about community policing: its implementation, shortfalls, successes, and falsehoods.  We're going to look at the meaning of community policing in today's society and find out why even the best intentioned initiatives can fail due to the apathy and neglect of police and governmental leaderships.  We're going to learn how the idea can too often be co-opted for shallow political gain and reelections.  And we'll examine what needs to change if the practice of community policing is to ever really help bridge the divide between the police and the people they are sworn to serve.
