This week on Behind the Blue Curtain we’re going to discuss DEATH CELLS Americas Jails and Prisons. My Guests will be Susan Mason (My Sister) who lost her daughter Monique in a Dauphin County Pennsylvania Facility . We’ll also hear from Lisa Purtue who has experience in Prison Systems on the conditions and treatment of prisoners. Monique Mason, a mother of two from Harrisburg, was awaiting trial. Several days before her death, Monique Mason reported suffering from severe headaches and was given a migraine medication, Susan Mason claims that three days before she died, her daughter was found unresponsive, but was eventually awakened. She didn't awake after the final incident on March 2, 2013, Christopher Howard, of Flowery Branch, had been arrested for probation violation on Feb. 15, and was booked into the jail that night he suffered a “medical emergency” and was transferred to Gwinnett Medical Center. He died on Feb. 17. MEanwhile in Milwaukee. Terrill Thomas spent seven straight days holed up in a solitary confinement cell with no running water. As the days wore on, he grew weak and dehydrated. He lost nearly 35 pounds and turned quiet, never asking for or receiving medical attention. Two hours into his eighth day in solitary, jail staff found Thomas, 38, dead on his jail cell floor, the result of profound dehydration. Join us this Saturday February 9th, 2019 at 10 AM CST.
