Traffic Enforcement is a necessary tool to insure public safety and adherence to traffic laws.  We all like to get where we’re going safely and I think most Americans agree that traffic tickets are a necessary tool that keeps us safe.  However, what happens when Officers are given a quota (specific amount) of tickets they must write for the shift, week or month?  What happens when their job is dependent on how many tickets he or she writes?  What do you do when you haven’t observed a traffic violation or you worked a call that took the whole shift, leaving you without the “suggested” number of tickets or contacts?  At what point does the quota and the pressure on the officer to meet it turn the Police Officer into a Revenue Collector for the city?  Let’s talk about it.  Call in and tell your story if you’ve have one.  If you’ve had a good encounter share that also,
