Cameron Woods has been writing since childhood, when she wrote mostly short stories, mostly after bedtime, mostly in her bedroom closet on top of all the shoes. As an adult, she began focusing on poems and using a desk. Cam spent eight years in Chicago, where she first tagged along with a friend to a poetry slam, started reading words out loud, and was lucky enough to land on some of the city’s best slam and open mic stages including Mental Graffiti, Lethal Poetry, The Uptown Poetry Slam, and In One Ear at the Heartland Cafe. Her recent features include “In One Ear”, “Spilled Milk,” and the Glenwood Arts Festival. She was also a featured ensemble member on the “Poet at the End of the World” podcast, has been published in “The Legendary,” and is the author of a little chapbook called "Dearie.”
Cam now lives in her home state of Iowa, where she enjoys distance running, looking up at the stars, and wearing dresses with pockets. She is currently at work on chapbook number two.
