SpokenHeard with Judah 1 and Susan Dobbe Chase

Judah 1 is a poet, community organizer, author, educator and Director of the poetry-focused nonprofit, LionLikeINC. His best friend’s tragic death by suicide at 15-years-old inspired a Judah 1’s childhood love of poetry and song into a lifelong mission to ensure young men know and use the power of their voices, the power of community, the power of faith and the power of knowledge. Judah 1 shares his talented expertise and transformational knowledge by teaching artistic expression and speaking to diverse demographics in settings that include elementary schools, universities, detention camps, rehabilitation centers and prisons. By opening and running the successful Machine Pomona Art Gallery, in the Pomona Arts Colony, (2010- 2014) Judah 1 inspired a new generation of poets and visionaries to continue their own artistic legacies. Judah 1 will continue to serve as an example of success and hope for generations to come and welcomes inquiries for artistic collaborations and bookings.
