Ezekiel was a prophet of the Jews in Babylonian captivity. In forceful, dramatic, and often symbolic language, Ezekiel summoned the exiled Jews to repent of their sins, assured them that God would in due time punish their captors also, and promised God would ultimately restore Israel and the temple in Jerusalem
