The Bronzeville Film Festival (BFF) is calling for films to be screened at its 2009 festival. Each submission must be produced, written or directed by an African-American or feature African-American issues, struggles, triumphs or themes. There has been great concern surrounding the depiction of African Americans and Americans of various denominations in electronic media. Often these images are portrayed stereotypically in American hegemonic culture reflecting degradation, squalor, poverty, and drugs. The redeeming power is oftentimes ignored. The inspiration and uplifting spiritual values that exist are somehow overlooked. The Bronzeville Film Festival is designed to experience a balance of stories and programs that are professional, creative, relevant, and pro-social. Films, Life, and Positive Thoughts. www.spikespillberg.com
