Let’s see... The President, Black... The Chairman of the RNC for the first time in history, Black... Lil Wayne goes from Obscure, Pseudo-Gangsta rapper to world renowned pop rock star guitarist and Katie Couric interviewee seemingly overnight. Kanye West has somehow managed to convert his rapping obsession with MEGA high-end fashion icon Louis Vuitton into an actual, profitable deal with the company, something many a rapper has tried but has not managed to actually accomplish thus far, at that level at least. Beyonce replaces Marilyn Monroe in her serenade of the Nations Commander in Chief, and the list goes on... Positions are succumbing left and right to Blacks “for the first time” or seemingly to keep up with some kind of trend. Seems like Blacks are not only now receiving the time of day from main stream America, but getting the Presidential Rolex along with it. Are these all simply the long overdue spoils of battle from the “Black struggle” here in the west? Is all the hard work of our revolutionary predecessors during the civil rights era finally paying off? Is the booming minority populace in America forcing the traditional “controlling class” into “change”? Or are we simply the latest victims a passing trend in America... destined for discrimination and ambiguity once again? I think we’ll definitely have to get the good Reverend Professor H.W. Weatherby in on this one as we serve up yet another dish from the ever curious mind of the Specta!!!
