Mea Boykins created the Student Emergency Assistance program (SEA) as a sophomore at Spelman by using her networks, family, jobs, and letter writing to raise the first $5,000 for the fund.

SEA was inspired by her father, who is a very giving person. He helped a few of her friends, as well as other Spelmanites with their tuition to help them to matriculate or stay in school. SEA is targeted for juniors and seniors at Spelman College who have exhausted all of their financial resources and have an impending balance, placing them at risk for expulsion.

Tune in to find how you can contribute to this worthwhile organization.
