Dr. Robertson's published research and teachings focus on the broad areas of race, criminology, and research methods. Presently, he is an Associate Professor of Sociology in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, Florida. He is presently working on a book titled Police Use of Excessive Force against African Americans: Understanding its Origins and Why it Persists with co-author Dr. Cassandra Chaney (Louisiana State University) which will be part of the Critical Perspectives on Race, Crime, and Justice series and will be published by Rowman & Littlefield Publishing, Group Inc. in 2017.
