How often have you met someone who says "I am trying to lose weight," while standing in line at McDonald's ordering a cheeseburger and fries with their Diet Coke? Commitment is so much more than merely deciding or trying to reach a goal or improve your life. Commitment is making a binding promise to yourself or others and doing whatever it takes to achieve your goal. Sometimes there are long gaps between deciding to do something and then formally committing to doing it.
