Power and Purpose: The Power of Getting What Belongs to Me

God ruled: "Zelophehad's daughters are right. Give them land as an inheritance among their father's relatives. Give them their father's inheritance. (Numbers 27:6-7)

What had happened in this text is that Zelophehad, who was of the tribe of Mannaseh, son of Joseph died and had only five daughters.  Now these sisters got together and went to Moses and Eleazar, who was the priest and basically said, “Since our father died and didn’t have any sons… give his inheritance to us.” – which actually was outside the laws of that time.

They were in ORDER and UNIFIED – they didn’t just go try to against the law and take what they believed belonged to them.

Then they were OBEDIENT, because after Moses went and sought God on their behalf they did have a condition to receiving the inheritance.

They were OVERCOMERS, being that in spite of the condition – they weren’t petty, they didn’t focus on the condition but they overcame what would have seemed impossible in that day in time.

POWER AND PURPOSE AFFIRMATION

I am limited,only by my focus on the negative,of what is really possible.
