Welcome to Single Life Today.  A lifestyle for baby boomers on their own!

Todays topic:  Personality Disorders & Dating

Talk about a tough subject!  How do we really know someone?  What are the signs there may be trouble before you get to paradise?  I welcome Dr. Bob Ruotolo.  He will share the key red flags to look for with regard to personality disorders while dating.  A lot of this information can be found on the internet, yet it’s important to hear it from a PhD who had a private relationship, marriage and family counseling practice for decades.  A happily married man for 40+ years, he’s seen it all!  So when it comes to sharing, Dr. Bob will help put things is some semblance of perspective.  Not fool-proof, simply great information that we can apply to our dating life.

We will share the definitions and explore some of the behaviors (without diagnosing) of the Sociopaths, Narcissist, Borderline, Manic, Bi-polar, Split Personality, and Psychotic disorders, to name a few.   Some of these disorders have similar behavioral characteristics.  Let’s allow Dr. Bob to educate us and give us tips as to how we can handle what feels like questionable behavior that creates the uncomfortable moments that we sometimes struggle with, yet we want to keep giving the benefit of the doubt.

If you have a question about a current relationship and would like his input (without expecting a diagnosis), he will be glad to take your call and help as best he can.  This list of red flags just may prove to be invaluable and will help you decide how to handle those things that make you go huuuummmm.   The call in number is (760) 542-3915 and I suggest that you do NOT want to miss this broadcast.  What a great way to learn!
