Studies in music indicate that it is a natural healer. Researchers have discovered that blood flow and respiratory rates can synch with music, and that swelling crescendos - increases in volume - appear to induce moderate arousal while decrescendos induce relaxation. Proven to release dopamine responsible for pleasure, music shows promise in the treatment of mental and somatic illnesses. Similar research also suggest that it may be useful for patients with traumatic brain injury and as therapeutic intervention for problems associated with aging.
Please join us, Lyn Yancha, LMP and Andy Mayor (musician), for a discussion on how music played a healing part in their lives. Please call the live call-in number with your stories to share.
