WHAT’S GOING ON IN THE WORLD OF WOMEN?
No one is better attuned to the situation of women in countries throughout the world than Rita Henley Jensen, founder and editor in chief of Women’s e-News, one of the most comprehensive and well-written publications covering women’s issues globally. So if we want to get up-to-the-minute information about what’s happening, she is the one to talk with, and we are delighted to have Rita join us Saturday as we discuss the latest in women’s rights in general and specifically a growing phenomenon of the immigration of care givers, specifically mothers; what is becoming a universal challenge to abortion rights; and even the fuss in France over super thin models.
Tune in Saturday at 11 am Pacific time to hear what she has to say and to ask questions about the problems for women in the world and what some people are doing about it.

Iris and Priya return for another candid conversation about women entering the wisdom years of 60! Join us for another engaging conversation about things we often do not really talk about in public, at least honestly and openly. Todays episode is about "happy to be single". So many of us women are single in our midlife. In a culture that is fixated on being in relationship as the only path to fulfillment for a woman, being single can be a real challenge. The big one is being alright with being single in the face of all of the negative conditioning that we have grown up with that tells us that we are not ok if we are not together with someone aka "Married". Once we get over that big hurdle and settle into ourselves then there are the questions of how to get our social, sexual and intimacy needs met. It takes a village of the sisterhood to break through the viels that keep us isolated, alone and in despair about our being single. Let's move through it together so that we can celebrate our lives as sovereign women loving oursleves and eachother!
"A Nation Can Rise No Higher Than Its Woman" proclaims the posters advertising this weeks national gathering of women in Chicago for a special meeting with Minister Louis Farrakhan. Young women are in crisis and Minister Farrakhan will discuss the strategy to "save our girls" in an address expected to attract over 3,000 women and girls on Saturday, April 18, 9am to 12 noon, at Muhammad University, 7351 South Stony Island. Our guest today, Sis. Maryam Muhammad, an organizers of the event, will share some of the critical issues to be addressed at Saturday's gathering.
Janicka Bassis was born in Chicago from Czechoslovakian Immigrants. Her mother Melanie Everet was one of the first women in commercial real estate in America and she taught her four daughters that there was no such a thing as a glass ceiling and that only stars were the limits. Janicka studied at the prestigious Sophia University, Tokyo Japan and went also to the French National School Beaux Arts in Paris and received a scholarship from the Art Institute of Chicago.
Janicka's dream was to be a portrait artist. Unfortunately her husband fell ill and she became the sole bread winner of the family. After 7 years spent in the hotel industry specialising in the Japanese Market she followed the trails of her mother and started her very successful real estate career in 1987. She became one of the first Women Directors in France to sell commercial French Real Estate to the International Market. She created the first real estate transaction department in a French bank in 1993 and sold the then largest shopping center in France. She also created the first investment department for Foncia Entreprise as well as a family real estate fund with her sister in Vienna, Austria . Her Internet career began in 2012 when she was asked to develop a real estate social network for Institutional investors called Belbex where she worked for 2 years as International Development Director. Janicka enjoyed learning about start ups and Internet technology.
She blazed the trail for other young women to enter that profession. She has been enjoying helping women for 25 years now which is also why she founded W.W.I.R.E the World Women In Real Estate network.
Janicka lives in Paris, she speaks fluently French and Japanese and is now looking forward to learning Chinese.
The "Save Our Girls" meeting held in Chicago and telecast via Internet around the world was a huge success. It opened the eyes of our young women and girls as to the awesome task they have before them to create a new world. The patriarchical culture of today must be abolished, along with sexist attitudes that demean the worth of women. Such is the task of today's women, to create a new way of thinking in their daughters in order that they may give birth to and raise a different kind of child. How do we empower women to overcome their own low self esteem an sense of self worth, particularly when society tells them they are only as valuable as their physical attractiveness and their money and possessions? Many women engage in self destructive behavior (alcohol, drugs, sexual promiscuity, overindulgence in food) because of deep emotional pain from childhood in which their fathers were absent. How do we help women overcome the tremendous feeling of rejection and abandonment that comes from being raised without a father in their lives?
Women should be appreciated and not thinking about becoming the president of a country. Women are a gift in many ways, they were created to stand at the side of man and not behind him. They do more then any one can say what a woman does, they sometimes bears the world on their shoulders. A man that has a wife is said to have a gold crown. This is a Pre-mothers day tribute and I declare April 15, 2015 WOMAN'S DAY! Double portion of grace I declare on all women this day. May all women all over the world have had a special day today.
