When Women Say I Don't Need a Man...
Black men lose their minds when a sistah says "I don't need a man!" All sorts of accusations about what is wrong with her are usually what follows - from being gay to carrying emotional baggage after being damaged in past relationships.
I recently came across a long blog post where a guy took the time to explain how hearing that phrase makes black men feel. We'll discuss his theories and the real reasons that black women say "I don't need a man!", as well as what women mean when they say it.
Join us on Sunday, May 19th starting at 6:00 p.m. PST/9:00 p.m. EST. To participate in the discussion log on, or call 347-327-9215.

Healthy white women and healthy women of color
Do white women and black women view health and wellness the same? Should they? Is the health of women of color different from white women? I am not talking about just the statistics I am talking about everyday life! That’s why in this weeks show I am going to get into these questions as well as the ones you offer! I want to share with you what health looks like for a women of color and why it matters for all women as well as why we encounter some myths that also have some truth to them when it comes to understanding the ideas around “ wellness” for black women or white women and why one size does not fit all when it comes to health! Join me and my guest Dr. Stacy Mobley who is a Naturopathic Doctor, speaker, and author of the forthcoming book, Eat, Sleep, and Poop… for busy Grownups (Summer 2013). Her work as a naturopathic physician combines the wisdom of nature with the rigors of modern science and she has a very personal story of healing in her own life which is why her practice focus is specializing in helping women, just like you, regain control of their health! You don’t want to miss this one!
