    Backbone Power: Dr. Anne Brown on The Authentic Woman with Shannon Fisher

    This week, Shannon welcomes Dr. Anne Brown, PhD, RN. Brown worked as an Alcohol Clinical Specialist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and also served as the Program Director of the Outpatient Drug and Alcohol Program at Greater Cape Ann Human Services. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia, BS in Nursing; Boston University, MS in Psychiatric-Mental Health in Nursing; and International University, PhD in Addiction Studies.

    Most of us know at least one individual suffering from an addiction, victimhood, or martyrdom. Dr. Brown explains how and why we must stand up to these masters of sabotage. Addiction touches the life of everyone who knows the addict, and people-pleasing behavior only enables the addiction. The message in her book, Backbone Power, is that we must act to address addiction by finding our blind spots and learning to speak eith authenticity and power.  Brown has been described by one client as “having a very caring way of going for the jugular.”

    The Authentic Woman is a weekly radio show hosted by women's rights leader, Shannon Fisher, offering perspectives on the female experience in America.     Originally from South Carolina, Tamika survived a physically, sexually and emotionally abusive relationship of eight years. She did not let this stop her; in fact she used her pain for personal power and chose to publish a book about her experience. She released her memoir The Plus Factor in September 2011. Winning the “2012 BWABC Literacy Rocks! Author of the Year” Award. Tamika is a 2015 Southern Entertainment Awards Journalist of the Year Nominee.

    Tamika serves as a frequent lecturer at the University of South Carolina where The Plus Factoris used as a text book in the Department of Women and Gender Studies.Tamika launched Ink Pen Diva Manuscript Critique Services, LLC February 2014 to support new and veteran authors in critiquing their manuscript and other writings. Taking business one step further, Tamika launched a writer’s group coaching program to give participants complete knowledge in writing and publishing their book from start to finish.

    Tamika has served as an expert in the areas of domestic violence and sexual assault for numerous NBC, FOX, CBS affiliates and numerous radio stations. She was featured as a "Person to Count On" by WIS News 10 (NBC).

    A proud mom of one son, Tamika will release her second title Poverty in My Soulin 2016.

    KiKi Richardson is the Author of the Controversial book: "The Other Woman Code of Conduct", Sexpert, Relationship Coach & Radio Personality.KiKi began her career at a very young age. While in high school KiKi performed in several local talent shows and was dared by a friend to perform a rap song in the competition and true to form....SHE WON!  After feeling the rush from that performance, KiKi began a promising rap career touring with such greats as Queen Latifah, Big Daddy Kane & Heavy D before opting to pursue her education and attend Western Illinois University, but her undeniable love for the arts led her to transfer to Columbia College.  It wasn't long before her talent (and unmistakable beauty, charm and sense of humor) brought her to the attention of the late great comedian/actor Bernie Mac. While pursuing a television production degree at Columbia University. KiKi toured with the Mac Man, Bernie Mac for five years until a brief hiatus and Bernie's blessing led her to Los Angeles.
