    Incomplete Without Jesus

    in Christianity

Have you ever wondered why people lie, chat, steal, fornicate, etc.? It is because they feel a void without Jesus in their lives. Instead of seeking Him, they try to substitute His presence for things of this world. It doesn't work though. No matter how much they attempt to fill the empty space in their heart with things that don't really matter, they will never be whole. They will remain incomplete until they fill it with Jesus.

St. Marguerite Bourgeoys - Without Walls

    in Religion

Rebroadcast of the long running radio program, "The Ave Maria Hour", a presentation of the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement. www.AtonementFriars.org

“God closes a door and then opens a window,” people sometimes say when dealing with their own disappointment or someone else’s. That was certainly true in Marguerite’s case. Children from European as well as Native American backgrounds in seventeenth-century Canada benefited from her great zeal and unshakable trust in God’s providence.

Marguerite at the age of 20 believed that she was called to religious life. Her applications to the Carmelites and Poor Clares were unsuccessful.

In 1654, the governor of the French settlement in Canada invited her to come to Canada and start a school in Ville-Marie.

Soon after starting a school, she realized her need for coworkers. Returning to Troyes, she recruited a friend, Catherine Crolo, and two other young women. In 1667 they added classes at their school for Indian children. A second trip to France three years later resulted in six more young women and a letter from King Louis XIV, authorizing the school.

Marguerite established a school for Indian girls in Montreal. At the age of 69, she walked from Montreal to Quebec in response to the bishop’s request to establish a community of her sisters in that city. By the time she died, she was referred to as the “Mother of the Colony.” Marguerite was canonized in 1982.

    Understanding the Recent College Demonstrations

    Understanding the Recent College Demonstrations

In fall 2015, thousands of college students across the nation organized, protested, and demanded change at their schools. From the hiring of more faculty of color to the teaching of Ethnic and GLBTQ Studies and increasing student programs, students' lists of demands were vast.

Naysayers and conservative pundits were quick to critique these protests, but too few people took the time to listen and learn from students. As students return to their campuses from winter break, this show brings together student activists, educators, and community members to reflect on students’ demands, the factors fueling their protests, and the possibilities for change.

Students have long been the ones pushing for educational transformation. These latest demonstrations aren’t isolated incidents or the gripes of so-called "coddled” or “whining” individuals, as some would want us to believe. Instead, students’ demands stem from decades of racism, class inequality, and other forms of exclusion. Now is the time to listen to students’ demands and work together to ensure that our schools serve all of our students.

The New & Improved Taxation Without Representation

    in Politics

America now has a new and Improved - Or should I say, "Government Approved" form of taxation without respresentation.

The theft of children for high dollars from the tax payers to pay for foster care and pharmaceutical prescriptions.

We are being lead to belive it is the best intrest of our children and the saftey of our communities.   However, we all know it is the best interest of their pocket-books and the saftey of their cozy govt. jobs . . . At the tax-pyers expense.

If we do not rebel now - it WILL be too late!

We will Also be discussing the new Illinois House Resolution 855 that is aimed at securing their tyranny upon the American citizen.

Understanding the Purpose and Power of Men by Myles Munroe

    in Religion

What is a real man?  Men need a God-given identity if they are to fulfill their true purpose.  If men knew who they really are and their true reason for being, then their confusion, anger, and destructive behavior could be replaced with purposefulness, confidence,  and a building up of society.  While society is feeling the effects of the male's dilemma, it is also apparently contributing to it by  presenting  incomplete or confusing ideas of manhood.  In this way, society is unknowingly bringing trouble upon itself.  This double-edged sword is not new to our generation  or our world says Myles Munroe.....................
