Ozzie Zehner is the author of Green Illusions: The Dirty Secrets of Clean Energy and the Future of Environmentalism which was published last month. We don’t have an energy crisis. We have a consumption crisis. And this book, which takes aim at cherished assumptions regarding energy, offers refreshingly straight talk about what’s wrong with the way we think and talk about the problem. Though we generally believe we can solve environmental problems with more energy—more solar cells, wind turbines, and biofuels—alternative technologies come with their own side effects and limitations. How, for instance, do solar cells cause harm? Why can’t engineers solve wind power’s biggest obstacle? Why won’t contraception solve the problem of overpopulation, lying at the heart of our concerns about energy, and what will? Ozzie Zehner is a visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley. His recent publications include public science pieces in Christian Science Monitor, The American Scholar, The Humanist, The Futurist, Women’s Studies Quarterly and The Economist as well as educational resources in Green Technology (Sage, 2011) and Green Culture (Sage, 2011). Zehner’s research and projects over the previous two decades have been covered by CNN, MSNBC, USA Today, Science News Radio, The Washington Post, Business Week and numerous other media outlets. He also serves on the editorial board of Critical Environmentalism. Zehner primarily researches the social, political and economic conditions influencing energy policy priorities and project outcomes. His work also incorporates symbolic roles that energy technologies play within political and environmental movements.
If you have never heard of the founding member of super group Earth, Wind & Fire, singer, drummer, songwriter, and producer, Maurice White, then you don’t know great music. He was known for his stagecraft and inventive compositions. Let me tell you about the TrueMovement created by this man.
Maurice "Reese" White was born on December 19, 1941, in Memphis, Tennessee and was a guiding force behind the success of Earth Wind & Fire. He helped compose hit songs like two of my personal favorites, "Shining Star" and "September."
Celebrating the music and the man. Listen now and read more here.
The church has been riding on the waves of many different fads for years that are either unScriptural or have absolutely nothing to do with what Jesus commanded us to do. In this teaching I will be talking about what the Bible says about being swayed by EVERY WIND OF DOCTRINE. I will also cover some of the winds and waves of doctrine the church was and is currently obsessing over.

Wind Wise Radio is honored to be joined by the president and vice-president of National Wind Watch , Eric Rosenbloom and David Roberson, for a conversation about their experiences at the center of the struggle against Industrial Wind in the U.S.
Since 2005, National Wind Watch (NWW) has been a indispensable resource providing a clearinghouse for information and assistance to individuals and local groups seeking the facts about industrial wind power. Eric Rosenbloom is a science writer and editor. In 2001 Eric and family moved from New York to northeastern Vermont, where he founded his own company, Kirby Mountain Composition & Graphics. Eric has been involved since 2003 when he learned that there were plans to erect wind turbines on the ridge behind his house. At first, he was a cautious supporter of the development but as he learned more his opinion shifted. In 2005, he started up the excellent site aweo.org, which he continues to maintain and where you can find much of his writing on the subject of IWT. David Roberson, is a galleryowner in Shelburne Falls, MA. David lived off the grid for 12 years in Hawley, Massachusetts before moving to Rowe, MA where he lives with his "wife, dogs, cats, goats, geese, and chickens." In 2003, his seminal article, Questioning the Faith of Wind Power, was published. The article broke new ground and argued cogently against the rush to wind without rigorous analysis, and should be required reading for all those interested in these issues. In 2005, David organized the first gathering of interstate wind opponents, a weekend-long conference with participants from 10 states.
We interviewed Andrew Gregg a documentary filmmaker from Canada whose film, "Wind Rush" will be broadcast on CBC's DocZone on February 7th. You won't want to miss this interview nor will you want to miss the broadcast of Wind Rush "Driving by a wind farm, looking at the rural houses, it’s easy to be skeptical about the talk of wind turbines making people sick. We’re told that wind turbines are good and green. So how could those people living by them have an issue?
But there is a problem—and it’s there because some governments and wind companies didn’t do their homework before installing megawatt after megawatt of huge industrial machines. And as a result there are people living among the turbines who are suffering.
In the new documentary film WIND RUSH, produced for CBC Doc Zone by Toronto’s 90th Parallel Productions, the battleground for the pro and anti wind forces is southern Ontario. The government there pledged to wean the province off coal fired generation plants and replace them with green wind energy.
But as soon as the turbines went up in places like Wolf Island, Amaranth and Bruce County, people realized they could hear them. Sometimes it was like a whisper, but other times it sounded more like a jet taking off. And then it got worse." We will also air our interview Robert Rand of Rand Acoustics about his perspective on the Shirley Study.
