    JAMES WILDER INTERVIEW

    in Entertainment

Powerful and versatile actor, James Wilder has been garnering awards and shining reviews in his new independent film, "3 Holes And a Smoking Gun," in which he portrays a duplicitous, washed-up screenwriter. He was named Best Lead Actor at the Red Dirt International Film Festival, Best Actor at the Winter Film Awards and Independent Spirit Award at the Garden State upcoming Film Festival. The film was also awarded the prestigious Grand Jury Prize at the Red Dirt International Film Festival and Best Screenplay honors at L.A.'s Downtown Film Festival.

James Wilder's indelible portrayals include an ambitious lawyer in the Emmy Award-winning drama "Equal Justice." co-starring Sarah Jessica Parker, and the charming but sleazy drug dealing seducer in the series "Melrose Place." The New York Times said "James Wilder, as Carl Isaacs, is a thoroughly malevolent character, one in whom evil, rather than insanity, prevails," regarding his portrayal of serial killer Carl Isaacs in the acclaimed Miramax film, "Murder One."

The multi-talented Wilder started off as a street performer, who took his juggling three chain saws act from San Francisco to New York and Europe. He performed at the legendary Moulin Rouge in his mother's native Paris at the age of 14. He studied at the famed NY Actors Studio . If that isn't enough, Mr Wilder also designs exclusive leather jackets and jewelry, refurbishes vintage furniture that he finds at auctions and flea markets, collects classic cars and commits to acting projects only when it inspires. “3 Holes And A Smoking Gun” is one such project. and is also a formidable architect and clothing and jewelry designer. It seems there is little this dashing actor cannot do.

    Award Winning Actor James Wilder

    in Education

The Total Tutor Neil Haley will interview celebrity James Wilder.

His film work included such diverse projects as "Scorchers" with icons Faye Dunaway and James Earl Jones, "Flypaper" opposite Lucy Liu, and "Nevada" alongside Angus McFadden and Gabrielle Anwar. He also appeared in (starred) "The Coriolis Effect," which won The Grand Prize (in its category) at the Venice Film Festival. But it was his scorching depiction of serial killer Carl Isaacs in the acclaimed Miramax film "Murder One" that definitively thrust him into the limelight.

Wilder was featured in the pages of Vanity Fair alongside Alec Baldwin, Meg Ryan, Robin Wright, and Keifer Sutherland, GQ, Detour, and many other high profile titles. Often disinterested in the mainstream roles coming his way, he began turning his attention to the more provocative world of independent films and his passion for design and architecture.

Untrained as an architect or interior designer, Wilder's keen eye and distinct vision has transformed a dozen empty lots throughout California into panoramic living art. From gothic to baroque, sleekly modern to vintage chic, each of designs boasts a singularly unique aesthetic, one of which was recognized by HGTV as among LA's top three most outstanding properties alongside a Frank Lloyd Wright design.

Slowly the homes he built in his exclusive Hollywood Hills neighborhood have evolved into a loosely-structured artist's retreat inspired by Elia Kazan, Wilder's favorite renegade. Annie Leibovitz, Stanley Tucci, Blake Shelton, Tom Ford, Eddie Van Halen, Jesse James, and Stevie Wonder are just a few of the marquee names who have chosen his properties for photo shoots, exclusive events and long-term inspirational living spaces.

EP 67 Organizing Your Laura Ingalls Wilder Collection

    in History

As I often say in my presentations, it's a DANGEROUS time to be a Laura Ingalls Wilder fan because there is just SO much merchandise out there. Pretty much whatever you want you can find it with either Laura Ingalls Wilder or Little House on it. You can even find unexpectedly odd things like a dogtag or a bobble-head doll. Where do you find all this stuff? It's one of my post frequently asked questions at my programs so we'll go over that too. So gather up your books, your stuffed Jacks, and your Charlotte Dolls and listen up as we discuss how to organize your Laura Ingalls Wilder collection.

Please call in or contact me ahead of time through e-mail, Twitter or Facebook. I'd love to hear your organizational tips or unique things from your collection or your next collecting goal.
