Why do I have to go to work? Am I bad or lazy because I don't want to go to a job everyday? Even if I suck it up and go to a job everyday? In American society, working is good and not working is bad. Who's to Blame?
Do we just work for the money? Living cost money you know. Do we work out of our love for flipping burgers, typing or debating? Or could the blame lie deeper in history?
WHY ARE WOMEN NICE TO THE MEN AT WORK BUT MEAN TO THEIR MAN AT HOME?
Do you know someone that has been or is being abused? Have you asked yourself why is she staying? Why won’t she just leave her/him or he won’t leave him/her? Many ask that question but these are the same people who forgot on the playground as a young child, the cute little boy or girl pushed you down or hit you all in the name of “they liked you”. As a survivor herself the founder, Imani Evans of Women Healing Women wanted to start an organization that truly empowers women. She works to empower women to understand that even surviving is only part of the healing journey, and that thriving is the true destination. A true Confession by the other Woman.....
There’s this idea that the husband turns to the woman on the side because she will do all of the things that his wife won’t. For me, this couldn’t have been further from the truth. I never felt like I was doing all the things that his wife wouldn’t do. I believed that she was doing all of the things that I didn’t have to do. Watching my parents’ own tumultuous relationship, I knew what it was like to watch a wife be devastated by infidelity. One of the easiest ways to avoid that devastation was by being the woman on the side. I wasn’t the one at home crying, wondering where he was. I was the one who knew. I got the dates, the gifts, the attention, while she was doing laundry, paying bills and taking care of babies—I got all of the perks with none of the responsibility.
When we say we are sorry we heal both souls, our own and the person we are sorry to or is sorry to us. When something happens that feels irrepairable we start to feel stuck and feel like there is no way out. Yet there is always a path to continue to heal even the hardest things we believe in our hearts we cannot get over. How do we get over things that feel so difficult to overcome? We have a very underused tool that is the simplest way to release what we carry and that is the freedom of forgiveness. Forgiveness is the grace of our souls as we learn why and when it is time to seek forgiveness and to accept forgiveness into our lives.
