Sage's Army, founded in March 2012 by Carmen Capozzi following the overdose death of his 20-year-old son, Sage, is dedicated to offering programs and services designed to raise awareness of all types of drug abuse and to compassionately support those seeking recovery. Though Sage’s Army provides various programs and services designed to promote awareness, compassion and action in the community, the organization’s core message is a simple one. Drugs do not discriminate. Addiction will touch the lives of many, and we all have an obligation to listen to those in need and support their recovery without prejudice or discrimination. Sage’s Army supporters do not judge, turn away or hide in shame. They fight the epidemic through understanding how addiction affects the lives of those they care about and they get involved – providing education, resources, encouragement and love.

In 2003, Maggie Jarry and Joe Donovan began a series of discussions, which led to the development of a national network of daughters and sons of parents with mental illness. In time, this network would come to be known as The Daughters and Sons Initiative. On this, our inaugural episode, Joe and Maggie are joined by Cheri Bragg Acker and Mike McCarthy. We will be discussing this Initiative; it’s history, achievements and hopes for the future. We will also explain how this new show, The Daughters & Sons Hour, will seek to support and expand on the efforts of the Initiative.

Today we will talk about our words and what we say. Our words can bring healing, comfort, encouragement, strength, love, peace and exhaltation. They can also bring hurt, discouragement, low self esteem, unforgiveness, doubt, unbelief, and many other things that we really do not want to inflict on someone. There used to be a saying, "sticks and stones can hurt my bones but words will nevver hurt me." That is a lie from the pit of hell. It is a lie that the devil has spread around for eons. Our words are very powerful and we need to realize that. What kind of words are you saying to your wife, husband, children, friends, neighbors, co-workers or anyone you come in contact with. We need to chose our words carefully before we say them and not just say what comes into the top of our heads.
Suicide is a serious public health problem that takes an enormous toll on families, friends, classmates, co-workers, and communities, as well as on our military personnel and veterans.
Uncovering the reason for an individual suicide death is complex and challenging. What we know from research is that 90% of people who die by suicide have a potentially treatable mental disorder at the time of their death—a disorder that often has gone unrecognized and untreated.
Join us for a very frank conversation about Suicide. Host Celeste S. Duckworth, with featured guests, LeAnn Hull, Founder/CEO of Andy Hull's Foundation, Brett A. Scudder, President/Chairman at The Suicide Prevention Institute, Roy Hobbs, News Anchor at WRDE News, Tisa Key, Actor/Writer/Filmmaker, and Jacqui Letran, CEO of Teen Confidence Academy, will share their experiences, what they have learned, breaking myths, and how they are advocating to prevent this tragic event.

With Straight Outta Compton, Kelli Jones has cemented herself as the go-to Costume Designer for gritty, realistic depictions of television and feature films’ most compelling characters and genres. After getting her start on season two of the critically-acclaimed FX series The Shield, Kelli was tapped to develop the look that sparked a fashion phenomenon with the wildly popular biker gang drama Sons of Anarchy. Through Sons, Kelli not only brought unquestionable sex appeal to the characters, but also garnered a Costume Designer’s Guild nomination in the prestigious “Best Contemporary Costume Design” category. In a true testament to the populatiy of her original looks and style, she even developed a Sons Of Anarchy clothing and jewelry line that is sold directly to fans on the FX Network’s website. These signature designs and point-of-view were not lost on the producers of the motion picture thriller Homefront, who picked her to create the looks for stars Jason Statham & James Franco, Winona Ryder and Kate Bosworth. Additionally, Kelli has she designed for such feature films as Chrystal starring Billy Bob Thornton, Four Reasons starring Josh Lucas and Radha Mitchell and Isolation, for Sons of Anarchy Director Stephen Kay. Jones’ other successful television credits include Hawaii, North Shore, Standoff, Women's Murder Club, Memphis Beat, Parks and Recreation, Franklin & Bash and several television pilots including Star-Crossed for the CW network and the groundbreaking Fox series The Following.
