SHOW NOTES: This is an episode that I feel compelled to do! Our MYTH WARRIORS™ series is about targeting ideas to begin the assessment of whether they are credible or not. This episode topic is, “We All Need Someone To Believe In Us.”
No. We don’t need it. This is a myth.
Definition of need:
“: a situation in which someone or something must do or have something
: something that a person must have : something that is needed in order to live or succeed or be happy
: a strong feeling that you must have or do something”
Need. (n.d.). Retrieved August 4, 2014, from http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/need
We may want someone to believe in us. A want is not a need. The challenge is that if we convince ourselves of the lie (myth) that we need someone to believe in us and we don’t have anyone who does; we argue that we have to give up on life. No one believes in us. We don’t believe in ourselves. We engage in self-destructive behavior. We sabotage ourselves. We befriend bitterness, regret and anger. We waste each day mired in self-pity.
Of course, it is wonderful if someone believes in you! If many people believe in you, congratulations! You are very fortunate! Yet, that is not a guarantee of any specific outcome (e.g., success, wealth, etc.). It is also not an entitlement. Just because your grandfather, sister, best friend and 7th grade teacher believe in you and have told you that you are special and super-awesome, does not mean that the rest of the world shares that same sentiment. We are all judged as adults as individuals.
Potential is just that. It is not purpose and it is not rewarded. We all have potential. The issue with this show topic is that [...]

If the Senior Pastor is so integral to the functioning of the Church, then why doesn't the New Testament ever mention who the pastor of any church was? Why are no letters written to them? And what are all those "one anothers" for?
Author Jon Zens joins us to talk about how God intended the New Testament Church to function, and what happens when Jesus is truly the Head of His Church.
Annette McCoy shares how recent events, both in her personal life, and even tragic global events have become somewhat en-lightend (for her) and the hidden treasures revealed (to her) by her willingness to colour them with gratitude. This is one program you will not come away from I am sure without being touched n some way...

Brief Audio Reflection "The Biggest One of All": (Matthew 28:16-20), Trinity Sunday, Year A
Our faith is replete with mysteries and wonders. This week we reflect on the biggest one of all. Five brief verses, that’s all we get. It’s a tiny gospel for such a big message… the very nature of God… the Blessed Trinity. We have no MRI images or DNA analysis of the Divinity. So, short of heaven, the word of Jesus is the only clear window we have into the heart of God. It tests our faith and doubtless it was meant to. But Jesus precisely packs so much into every word that it is more than enough for the faithful.
The core of this gospel is a passage that has come to be called The Great Commission. In his final charge to the disciples, Jesus bids them: Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son; and of the Holy Spirit. Note the significance of the singular. Jesus empowers them in the “name” of God… not in the plural “names” of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. That’s because they are one. God is one… three, yet one.
The mutual love of Father, Son and Holy Spirit clearly transcends time and stands as testament to our Triune God. Three in One… One in Three… Creator, Redeemer, Abider… through the prism of faith the beauty is sublime; the symmetry is exquisite. In faith the toughest question becomes our greatest comfort. In faith our response to the biggest mystery is not bewilderment. It is adoration.

Let's not have any more bad schools. Let's not have any more bad employment hiring practices. No more bad communities. Vote out bad politicians. Don't hire and fire bad police officers. Let's end bad policing. Bring policing into the 21 century. Impeach bad supreme court justices. Support good business owners. Void businesses taking our money; treating consumers like thieves; Sucking the economic life out of communities and transporting funds into their own way of lives and refusing to give back. End sundown communities.
Don't even think I think America is the worse place ever. I don't think nor act that way. America is greater than what most people experience daily. Prejudices stand in the way of prosperity for all. Most Americans never arrive at their fullest potential. Not because they are lazy. But because life goes on. Complete college, look for an idea job, fall in love, get married, have more mouths to feed. Guess what? Your job is not the job you went to school for. The job I have is not the job I wanted. It's the only job we could get hired to do at a time. Had to pay rent at a house filled with holes in the walls, roof and on the streets that lead to the house.
USA ain't all bad, but we gotta fix all that is bad America, starting with Fergusion, Missouri. Let's come together, not asking for nothing more than equal opportunity in employment, government jobs, housing, community, access of businesses, schools, resources and places to worship. Is this too much for all citizens to join in body and spirit to make happen in all the cities across America. We've got to do this America. We've got to do it with a child's heart.
