The Promiscuous Puppeteer is a multifaceted story about a secret gold exploration company funded by a syndicate comprised of some of the largest mining companies in North America and a CEO who is approached by a Mexican Native American woman, whose skills, from a sordid and seedy past, have the potential to help launch the world's largest gold discovery onto the international stage.
Chinese intelligence and embassy officials, US politicians, unscrupulous industry leaders, and a fledgling but growing and menacing Native American mafia are all primary constituents of a compelling and momentous drama that takes place throughout the western third of the United States. It all begins in a five-thousand-foot-high remote desert location called Tonopah, Nevada.
I have been a writer and public speaker for much of my life. My writing has included text booklets, poems, sort stories, and articles for periodical publications. My last book, "Jeremiah's Tale" was published a few years ago. In December, 2013 it became a temporary bestseller on the LuLu Publishing's bestseller list. (Please read on).
I thank each of you for your interest in my most recent literary success. Thanks to you, a portion of my book sales proceeds will be donated to a Native American college fund and to a Philippine "street children" charity organization.

Dr Peter Glidden, Naturopathic Doctor and author of 'The MD Emperor Has No Clothes: Everyone Is Sick and I Know Why", joins us for what is likely to be THE MOST controversial show that we will ever do. Dr Glidden's outspoken, but thorougly well researched, book covers the house of cards that is reductionist allopathic medicine, and why WHOLISTIC medicine is the golden standard for curing chronic disease. He runs us through:
- The difference between an allopathic and wholistic physician
- Why there is NO free market in medicine - a shocking story that extends back to the 1920's
- What happens when you try to suppress symptoms with medical drugs
- What the makers of Aspirin manufactured in the 1940's and,
- Which drug killed 500,000 people in 2004 (and why nobody went to jail)
Darbi's out of town this week, so Samuel Walter, a marijuana legalization advocate living in Colorado, will fill in as cohost for this evening's conversation. We'll be discussing the pros of legalizing marijuana, the history of its legality, and what we've learned from Colorado and Washington.
Tonight join The Gist of Freedom with host Roy Paul as we talk with the executive producer, of the play Black Wall Street, Walter E. Puryear! Running at The Andrew Freedman Home, 1125 GrandCouse Bronx, NY starting Thursday September 18th thru Sunday October 5,204.
BLACK WALL STREET by Celeste Bedford Walker
In 1921, in a small community in Tulsa Oklahoma, there was a Black paradise called Greenwood. This community consisted of Blacks, Indians, and Jews, who respected and did business with each other. In time the town was soon known as Black Wall Street. In a mere 36 block section of town, these African-Americans owned and operated up to 600 thriving businesses. One of the most popular of these businesses was Old Lady Boleys’,(fictional) an eating establishment which is where our play begins. One Sunday evening, the town’s more influential citizens gathered to have their pictures taken for the local newspaper; in honor of the community’s 20th anniversary. Before the play ends, the entire community of Greenwood is completely burned to the ground. In a 12 hour period, a major Black economic movement is halted.
Walter E. Puryear is the Mid-Bronx Council’s project manager for the Andrew Freedman Home. When the home opened in the Bronx in 1924, it looked like a limestone luxury liner sailing up the Grand Concourse, a grandiosity that advertised its odd function: a privately endowed retirement home for the formerly well-to-do, those who might have lost their money but not their manners or manorial tastes.
Listen, some of us who are fans could give you the background of Lynne Fiddmont in our SLEEP - because it's just so cool! Lynne was raised in St. Louis and had QUITE the musical family - Aunts, Uncles, Cousin Leon, Brother Keith. Lynne didn't realize the gift that SHE had until she saw "The Wiz" at 15 with her Mom. Something awakened in her and she decided to be fearless. She got a role in "Our Town" that year - and she actually won the part of DOROTHY in "The Wiz" soon afterwards! And NO ONE was more surprised than Lynne when she received a standing ovation when she sang "Home." Because she didn't realize that she could SING :) Life wasn't without challenges but our guest ROSE to them - Drake University, Boston U (public relations), singing in Boston Commons - where she was offered a full scholarship to Berklee by a Professor - then onwards to Los Angeles. A sight-unseen gig with the Crusaders, Bill Withers, Lou Rawls, Stevie Wonder, George Duke - Lynne Fiddmont has seen the world because of THAT voice.
The wonderful thing about Lynne's journey? Her friendships. One of the strong bonds: Walter Beasley. California born Walter has been a favorite of many for a long time - Lynne's included in the WIDE circle. Saxophonist, Singer, Composer, Producer, Professor (Berklee!) and mentor for grateful students all over the world. Our friend has been beloved in our Baltimore/DC region for quite some time - and he is returning in the next several days! Lynne will be a part of the festivities, too -- and that is exactly why we're having this reunion on 9/2! Walter has his own series of shows at Blues Alley in Washington. But Lynne joins him at Ram's Head in Annapolis during the first weekend of September.
Exciting? YES! Join us in The Chat Room for a gathering of Friends :)

With best-selling mysteries like “Devil in a Blue Dress” among his more than three dozen books, Walter Mosley is a master of crime fiction who knows how to put his characters into tight, scary situations. In “Lift,” his new drama of suspense that begins performances This Fall at Crossroads Theater Company in New Brunswick!
Join The Gist of Freedom and Guest Host, Actor Haas Manning for a discussion with Dr. Ishmael Griffin, President of Crossroads Theater.
Crossroads is a black owned and operated theater! www.blackHistoryblog.com on iTunes WWW.BlackHistoryUniversity.com
The writer traps two strangers within an urban nightmare: Inside a damaged elevator that is stuck high up in a burning skyscraper.
Disturbing undertones of Sept. 11 aside, Mr. Mosley said his dramatic fiction was mostly about revealing the inner lives of the characters who are grappling with such terrors. “They are those average-looking people you see beside you every day who have interesting back stories that you wouldn’t ever suspect,” he said in a telephone interview from his home in Brooklyn.
