Maiden Voyage Ministries is a bridge over troubled waters. It is a shining light in a dark world. We live in a very complex and incomprehensible matrix. We understand very little about the world we live in and even less about ourselves. So far nothing has worked to bring us all together. We strive for unity, community, fellowship, solidarity, unification, and that feeling of togetherness and we fail miserably. Our world is slowly dying. We are destroying ourselves, depleting our resources, poisoning our air, water, and land. People are suffering all over the world.Children are starving, innocents are being slaughtered all in the name of God and so called democracy. What if anything can we do to turn this around or at least slow it down and help people once again to feel a sense of peace and security. Tune in as we explore these many challenges that we are all faced with everyday. We invite you to make this station a regular part of your life. Enjoy the program. Share it with friends, family, and coworkers.
John Boehner's sudden departure from Congress caught many by surprise and had Tea Party followers celebrating. Why the celebration? Maybe because Boehner came to Congress as a firebrand conservative and left as the poster boy for the capitulating, ineffective establishment Republican that has so many voters in revolt of the GOP. With Boehner out of the picture, the jockeying to replace him has begun with Kevin McCarthy of California as the favorite. Will he be any better or will it be more of the same? Will the GOP majority in Congress have a better response to the Obama agenda with new leadership? Also, Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign continues to die by a thousand cuts as the lies surrounding her email scandal continue to pile up. We will examine the current state of the presidential race.

How NOT to Be Consumed with Queenly Disappointment
It happens. You are standing there in the spotlight. Grasping tightly the hand of the other girl. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting for the emcee to puh-lease announce the first runner up. Because you know…if your name is not announced, then YOU are the newly crowned queen of the pageant! Then, it happens. You hear YOUR name. Sudden disappointment engulfs your whole being. From the follicle of the hairs on your head to the tips of your beautifully sculptured toenails. “Nooooooo! My name was not to be called!” you scream silently in your head. All the work you’ve done. All the time you’ve put in. All the emotion spent getting to that moment on stage….and it wasn’t meant to be.
Well, I have wonderful news for you, my sister – all is not lost!
Actually, NOTHING at all was lost, but a whole lot gained. Take a look at the journey you traveled getting to that point. Look at the growth in many areas of your life that you went through. There are a few pearls of wisdom I am sure you gleaned along the way. Without traveling this journey you wouldn’t be stronger, smarter, wiser, and more beautiful, than had you not taken this voyage. Even standing on that stage, under that glaring spotlight, and not winning the crown is all part of this beautiful journey. Your life has meaning and purpose. At that moment in time, it wasn’t your crown to win. You put in the work. You put in the time. You put in the blood, sweat, and tears to get to that spotlight.
