Christian Devotions Speak UP! REBROADCAST The Lasting Hope

    in Christianity

Join us this week on Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! when Scott shares an interview from a LIVE concert with The Lasting Hope.

The Lasting Hope, a Christian rock band out of Southern Indiana, has a high-energy pop-rock sound that gets audiences on their feet and singing along. The band is uniquely formed by five young and very talented men who have a heart completely sold out to worship. Formed in 2010, the band has gone through some directional as well as member adjustments, but the final result has been a hard-core worship experience that audiences of all ages are positively reacting to.

The Lasting Hope truly has a heart for ministry and has lead worship and excited young crowds at many local churches, camps, and youth rallies.  “We are more than just a band, we are a ministry. Our goal isn’t to change the world, but to be THE change in the world.” Visit their ministry at http://www.thelastinghopemusic.com.

Christian Devotions Speak UP! with Melody Green

    in Christianity

Join us this week on Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! when host Scott McCausey brings on the wife of the late Keith Green to discuss the continuing ministry she and her husband started, Last Days Ministry.

Melody is probably most loved for the songs she’s written.  “There Is a Redeemer” is found in church hymn books around the world, and reports of it being sung in villages in Africa and Asia are plentiful. She has also composed many other standards including, “Make My Life a Prayer To You”, “You Are The One,” “Rushing Wind,” and “The Lord Is My Shepherd.”

Melody’s life is an adventure that just keeps unfolding. Besides writing songs, she is also known internationally as an author and a minister.  She is fearless when it comes to tackling difficult issues and bold in her travels.  She has been to over thirty nations to speak at retreats, conferences, and church services, as well as ministering to men and women in prisons, refugee camps, remote villages, leper colonies, underground churches, and those living in war zones.

Her best-selling book, No Compromise: The Life Story of Keith Green, has become a must-read classic, translated into numerous languages. To learn more about Melody, her book and ministry, visit www.lastdaysministries.org.

Brad Stine & Duck Dynasty's Mountain Man SHOUT Christmas on SPEAK UP!

    in Christianity

Brad Stine is on a mission—a mission to free us all from the chains of political correctness and prevent our eventual ‘wussification.’  From his Nashville stronghold, Stine is mounting his crusade against these hypocrisies, all of which are explored in his highly anticipated 4 album/DVD, aptly titled ‘WUSSIFICATION!’

“You know what offends me?....Offended people,” says Stine.  A staunch supporter of first amendment rights and foe of political correctness, Stine asserts that rights should be universally applied.  “In a country with guaranteed rights to freedom of religion, its citizens are constantly trying to make faith in public spheres illegal. I am offended by that contradiction and want to talk about it as a comic.”   The strength of his conviction about our freedoms can be found in many places on WUSSIFICATION—from “Merry Christmas Too!” (the right to celebrate religion), to “At Least We’re Not France!” (the responsibility to take action as a country), to “Spank” (the ability to discipline our children the way we see fit).

Duck Dynasty star Tim Guraedy is best known to the show’s millions of hard-core fans as “Mountain Man,” the slow-talking air-conditioning repairman/radio host who is a neighbor to the Robertsons, the Louisiana family that made a fortune from its best-selling duck calls, around which the show is based. Mountain Man is the only semi-regular cast member who is not a Robertson family member or employee of Duck Commander.

Christian Devotions Speak UP! with Allison Flexer

    in Women

Join us this week on Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! as host Scott McCausey shares a fulfilled dream of his guest and Boot Camp graduate, Allison K. Flexer.

Allison Flexer is passionate about encouraging single women in their journey of faith and communicating the love of God to others. As a single woman, she fought her share of lies and learned to replace them with God’s truth. Allison’s first book, Truth, Lies, and the Single Woman: Dispelling 10 Common Myths (Beacon Hill Press), is designed to combat common lies that destroy the joy and confidence of single women. As each myth is dispelled with truth from God’s word, readers are challenged to deepen their faith while accepting their value as beloved children of God.

Allison was a contributing writer for Devotional Ventures (Regal Books, 2006), and a contributing writer for Fulfilled: The NIV Devotional Bible for the Single Woman (Zondervan, 2014). She has also published articles in the Wesleyan Publishing House periodical, VISTA: Journal for Holy Living, and on Crosswalk.com.

At the age of thirty-eight, Allison was thrilled to experience answered prayers and long-held dreams coming true as she married the love of her life in November 2013. She and Michael grew up in the same hometown and lived a few houses apart on the same street. Michael and Allison now make their home in Nashville, Tennessee.

Christmas Praise! on Speak UP with Jean Watson & John Schlitt

    in Christianity

A classically trained singer and violinist, Jean Watson delved into the Christian recording world as a singer/songwriter in 2003. Since that time, her voice and testimony of God's grace and healing have touched thousands of lives around the world. The power of Jean's message comes out of her unique ability to minister and perform with a balance of musical excellence and childlike transparency. God uses Jean to break barriers of the heart through her willingness to share the story of her own weakness and healing. Hearing Jean sing and speak brings an infusion of faith in the love and power of God. Her passion for God is absolutely contagious!

A consummate singer, songwriter, arranger, and violinist, Jean insists on excellence in everything she does. She has recorded six albums to date including her latest CD, Christmas ... Not the Way It Seems, featuring Grammy nominated producer Billy Smiley and guitar virtuoso Phil Keaggy.

John Schlitt began singing when he was just five years old, performing the leads in recitals and plays in his school. By the time he was thirteen, he was in the unforgettably titled band Vinegar Hills Hometown Band Something Different – being paid twenty-five bucks as lead singer. It soon became clear that a career in music was in John’s future.

John Schlitt officially joined Petra in 1986, bringing with him his amazing vocal range and abilities that made him a legend with Head East. While John is arguably one of the most powerful vocalists around, his mightiest cry is the cry of his heart. Whether onstage or up close and personal, John’s voice is one of a truly changed soul. And his music is and always will be a reflection of God’s love and redeeming power.
