Our guest on this episode will be film maker Bob Hurst and we will be discussing his new documentary "The Listeners - A Film About Suicide Prevention" which follows volunteers who learn to use empathy and skills as they counsel crisis and suicide hotline callers.
Bob Hurst is a filmmaker with more than 20 years of experience in film, television and related media. His work includes fiction, documentary and experimental films that have been exhibited at festivals nationally and internationally. He has also collaborated with filmmakers as sound supervisor and camera operator on many films, including King Corn (2007), Kansas vs. Darwin (2007), The Only Good Indian (2009), Destination: Planet Negro (2014). These films and others have been shown on national cable networks like Showtime and Starz, and on the PBS television program Independent Lens. Bob has contributed to permanent installation works at the African Burial Ground National Monument in New York and the International Civil Rights Center and Museum in Greensboro, North Carolina.
He is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Film and Media Studies at the University of Kansas who works with a great and inspiring bunch of colleagues with and whom he's also collaborated on films - including Madison Davis Lacy, who executive-produced Paris is Burning and Eyes on the Prize II while at WNYC; and Kevin Willmott, who is co-writing Spike Lee's new film, Chiraq.

Justin has been writing, gigging, recording, and performing constantly since graduating high school and heading straight for music city two years ago. Justin started out in Phoenix, AZ as a drummer playing indie rock but has since jumped over to the front man role/solo performer role in the new country and Americana genres. Our guest on this episode, Jason Love, has been putting on animation workshops for the past 6 years. He has trained hundreds of participants from the age of 6 to 60. With the majority of his students being teenagers.
With his experience, Jason is able to break down the lessons into simple to follow steps. It is easy for anyone to have their first animated video completed in just a few hours using equipment anyone can get free access to.

Now, he is known throughout the Southeastern United States as the "gun for hire" when it comes to lead guitarists. Ric DeLozier is a seasoned and road toughened veteran who is always ready and has performed over 200 shows a year for an amazing 20 years all across America and playing a wide variety of styles and bands. Happy Memorial Day to all of you out there. Stay safe. Be blessed and you have my prayers and best wishes. This is a time of reflection. So many memories and accomplishments. Graduations. School year closing. Family gatherings and many more. Thank God for his love and mercy throughout. Church doors are open and for those who chose to make God your chose on this day what a memory that will be. Hazel will be celebrating her one hundred and fifth birthday and what a prime example of God in her life. Still strong, actively going and strong in the Lord. PACC church burnt their morgage. All accomplishments have been amazing this year you will agree. Go fishing, outdoor fun, travel, visit but whatever you do put God first and sparkle and shing. I thank God for you you have awsom to the Voice of Joy.
