Live:Bro Blue takes you to Jamaica, the culture, food and great reggae music
Ganja is their superior source of life. Originating in the 1930s, one of the most prominent, internationally known aspects of Jamaica's African-Caribbean culture is the Rastafari movement, particularly those elements that are expressed through reggae music. In the 1970s and early 1980s Bob Marley became the most high-profile exponent of the Rastafari culture and belief system. His reputation as an innovative musician devoted to his faith has continued to grow since his death, so that by 2004 his greatest hits compilation Legend had sold 20 million copies worldwide, making him arguably the world's most famous Jamaican, and certainly the nation's biggest-selling recording artist.

Yassin Hall comes from humble beginnings that would make most people throw in the towel, but her journey is one that demonstrates how important perseverance and determination are to reaching one’s destiny. She’s a mother, dance mom, fashionista, model manager, real estate mogul, celebrity stylist, entrepreneur, life mentor, speaker, now Author. She is Yassin Hall, a U.S. Virgin Islander.
However, Hall’s true passion has always been tied to fashion and clothing, as she began modeling in her teen years and designing. From the age of 12 , she was raised by her maternal grandmother & paternal uncle after her mother suffered a mental breakdown in front of her; the day that changed her life forever.
She wants her story as a child living with a mother with mental illness to raise awareness and help others. Mental illness in many communities is taboo and unspoken. She feels that cycle should be broken so others suffering with depression, anxiety, and mental disorders can be made aware of their conditions and know that it is okay to receive help before going over the edge.

Caribbean Music Exposition - Jamaica
The worldwide popularity of Caribbean music genres such as salsa and reggae proves that there is an enthusiastic global market for this type of music. Yet so far the Caribbean music industry has struggled to represent, develop and promote its own music. As a result, the region has systematically failed to reap any financial rewards from its own music sales. The Caribbean Music Expo (CME) aims to address this problem by acting as a tool to develop music industry enterprises in the Dutch, French, English and Spanish-speaking territories of the Caribbean and promoting their music worldwide. Launched in 1999, this annual international four-day music industry trade show aims to be the world's leading Caribbean music event. Its multi-faceted format, with live concerts, an exhibition, business seminars, awards and a search for emerging talent provides an excellent showcase for the Caribbean music industry. As the first event of its kind in the region it is also an ideal platform through which the industry's many stakeholders can network, exchange information and present their latest products and services.http://www.iicd.org/projects/jamaica-cme
Virgin Islands animal rescue organizations will get a boon from the chupacabra this summer. Ye Gods! A Tale of Dogs and Demons, the latest novel by former Virgin Islands resident Lynne Hinkey, is a tale of magic and monsters run amok on a Caribbean island. Lynne is donating 100% of the proceeds from ebook sales to animal rescue groups with the Animal Care Center of St. John, St. Thomas Humane Society, and St. Croix Animal Welfare Center benefitting in July, August, and September, respectively. "It's a two-fer deal," Lynne explains. "When you buy Ye God!, you get a good read and do a good deed.
The star of Ye Gods! is the chupacabra (Spanish for "goat-sucker"), a beast that captured the nation's imagination and has made its way into pop culture. Lynne's madcap crime-caper, "a Scooby-Doo meets Murder, She Wrote mash-up," tackles the mythology surrounding the monster with some new and hilarious twist.
Lynne is a "marine scientist by training, author by passion, and curmudgeon by nature." She moved to St. Thomas as a 19-year-old to attend the then College of the Virgin Islands and later worked for the UVI Marine Advisory Service. Her debut novel, Marina Melee, is set on the fictional island of São Jorge, a place that should seem familiar since it's based on St. Thomas. The story of Ye Gods! and the chupacabra was inspired by actual events in Puerto Rico, where Lynne did her doctoral studies at the University of Puerto Rico.
Lynne is available for interviews, book readings and signings, and book club appearances via Skype, phone, or other online venues. Contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org
